Sibford Ferris and Sibford Gower, Banbury: Warwick Road, Chatsworth Drive, Stanbridge Close - Various Traffic Restrictions

What is happening?

(20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that on 23 June 2025 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which comes into force on 30 June, introduces a 20mph speed limit throughout Sibford Ferris, replacing the 30mph speed limit in its entirety in the process, leading out to the following points:

1. Hawkes Lane – a point 143 metres north of its junction with Mannings Close.

2. Hook Norton Road – a point 220 metres south of Cotswold Close.

3. Main Street – a point 125 metres east of Folly Court.

4. Woodway Road – a point 169 metres southwest of Hook Norton Road.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Sibford Ferris Parish) (Speed Limit) Order 2003 and the Oxfordshire County Council (Sibford Gower Parish) (Speed Limit) Order 2024 are hereby revoked and consolidated.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Banbury, Warwick Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting
Date of Order: 23/06/2025
Coming into force: 30/06/2025

This Order is being introduced because of road resurfacing which is anticipated to take 6 days to complete.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in part of Warwick Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Dukes Meadow Drive, A423, A422 and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15761/RMF)

Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting
Date of Order: 23/06/2025
Coming into force: 03/07/2025

This Order is being introduced because of road and footway improvements which are anticipated to take 9 days to complete.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in Chatsworth Drive and Avocet Way and Whimbrel Way Roundabouts; working between 7am & 7pm daily. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Bankside.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15725/RMF)

Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 23/06/2025
Coming into force: 30/06/2025

This Order is being introduced because of high voltage cable reinforcement works which are anticipated to completed 11 July 2025. This is a 24-hour road closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in Stanbridge Close northwards from Fairfax Close. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Bretch Hill.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15644/AC)
