What is happening?

(Lindfield Rural: Scaynes Hill Road) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Scaynes Hill Road in Lindfield Rural from its junction with Gravelye Lane to its junction with East Mascalls Lane.
The road closure is needed to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.
The Order will come into effect on 14 July 2025 and remain in force until 12 September 2025. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.
During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times. (Slaugham: Public Footpath 14S) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Public Footpath 14S in Slaugham from its junction with the A23, north-westwards to its junction with Staplefield Road.
The closure of this route is needed to protect public safety following a sewage spill.
The Order extends the operation of a previously issued emergency closure notice and will come into effect on 27 June 2025. Once made, the Order will remain in force for up to 6 months, or until remedial works are completed, whichever is earlier.
Unfortunately, during the operative period of the Order no direct alternative route is available via the public rights of way network.

(Haywards Heath: Queens Road) (Temporary One-Way Traffic) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Queens Road in Haywards Heath to eastbound traffic from its junction with Bridge Road eastwards to the Scrace Bridge Roundabout.
This restriction is needed to allow new electricity mains to be installed in safety.
The Order will come into effect on 30 June 2025 and remain in force until 22 July 2025. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.
During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site and the restriction prohibiting HGVs suspended to allow access. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Burgess Hill: Chanctonbury Road to Nightingale Lane Footpath)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Chanctonbury Road to Nightingale Lane footpath in Burgess Hill throughout its entire length.
The closure of this route is needed to allow maintenance of electricity cables to be carried out in safety.
The Order will come into effect on 30 June 2025 and remain in force until 1 August 2025. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.
During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

((Mid Sussex District) (Parking Places & Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation No.2) Order 2006)
(Hurstpierpoint & Sayers Common: Trinity Road and Brown Twins Road Amendment) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC proposes to make a permanent Traffic regulation Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting at any time (introduce double yellow lines) on Trinity Road in Hurstpierpoint opposite the spur road giving access to the Health Centre and at the entrance to the Health Centre car park.
The Order also prohibits waiting at any time in the turning head at the eastern end of Brown Twins Road and a short length of the same restriction along the frontage of no.9 Brown Twins Road.
Full details of the proposals in this notice can be viewed on the Traffic Regulation Order page of the WSCC website. The website includes a response form for any comments or objections. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.
