What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(ABBEY LANE & ABBEYHILL/SPRING GARDENS)

(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025 – TEMP/25/84

The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period to facilitate redevelopment works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on any part of Abbey La from Abbeyhill northeastwards for 90m & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on both sides of: (i) Abbey La from the extended north east kerbline of Abbeyhill north-eastwards for 100m and (ii) Abbeyhill/

Spring Gdns from 35m west of the north west kerbline of Abbey La, eastwards to 30m south east of the south east kerbline of Abbey La. Existing parking restrictions may be suspended on the affected sections of road described in (b). The alternative route for vehicular traffic with respect to the closure is: Abbeyhill, Abbey Mount, Montrose Ter, London Rd, Meadowbank Ter, Royal Park Ter & Spring Gdns. The Order shall have effect from 1/7/25 to 31/10/25.
