Cumberland, Temporary Road Closure Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL ((B5307, ANGERTON TO ABBEYTOWN) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council has made an Order the efect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the B5307, Angerton to Abbeytown, from its junction with the C2042 at Angerton extending in an overall south westerly direction to its junction with the B5302 in Abbeytown. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the B5302 Abbeytown to Wigton, A596 Wigton to Thursby, A595 Thursby to Newby West Roundabout, A689 and the unrestricted section of the B5307.

The Order will come into operation on 30 June 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 12 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
