Howl Gate - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 HOWL GATE/
MITCHELL LANE, HIGH CATTON
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed along the following roads
commencing 30 June 2025 at 08.00 hours.
1. Howl Gate between the junctions of Newbridge Lane
and Mitchell Lane.
2. Mitchell Lane between the junctions of Howl Gate
and High Catton Road.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
remedial works, to be carried out and completed in
a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the
public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed by
2 July 2025 at 18.00 hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Newbridge Lane, Moor Road, Church Road,
High Catton Road and vice versa.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain
open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access
to properties directly affected by the closure and for
emergency services.
The Order will commence 30 June 2025 and continue
in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or
until the works which it is proposed to carry out have
been completed, whichever is the earlier.
