ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BOLTON ROAD AND CHORLEY ROAD, CHORLEY, CHORLEY BOROUGH) (REVOCATION AND PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 10 June 2025 Lancashire County Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the following:
a) The "Lancashire County Council (A6 Bolton Road, A5106 Wigan Lane, Heath Charnock, Chorley Borough) (Part Revocation And Prohibition Of Waiting) Order 2009" insofar as it relates to Items ii) and iii) of Schedule 1.
b) The "Lancashire County Council (Garden Street, Bolton Road, Abbey Village, Acresfield, Windsor Avenue, Adlington, Harrison Road, Chorley, The Asshawes, Heath Charnock, Knowsley Lane, Rivington, Chorley Borough)(Revocation And Prohibition Of Waiting)Order 2017" insofar as it relates to Item 14) of Schedule 2.
2. Introduce a prohibition of waiting in the following lengths of road:
a) Bolton Road, Chorley, the south west side, from its junction with the centreline of Wigan Road for a distance of 113 metres in a north westerly direction;
b) Bolton Road, Heath Charnock, the north east side, from a point 57 metres southeast of its junction with the projected centreline of Martins Avenue for a distance of 283 metres in a north westerly direction;
c) Bolton Road, Heath Charnock, the south west side, from its junction with the centreline of Wigan Lane for a distance 65 metres in a south easterly direction;
d) Chorley Road, Adlington, the south west side, from a point 3 metres northwest of its junction with the centreline of B6227 Railway Road for a distance of 27 metres in a north westerly direction;
e) Chorley Road, Heath Charnock, the south west side, from a point 13 metres south east of its junction with the centreline of the southern leg of The Asshawes for a distance of 32 metres in a north westerly direction.
This Order will come into force on the 26 June 2025. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Chorley Borough Council, Town Hall, Market Street, Chorley, PR7 1DP, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, PO Box 100, Preston PR1 0LD, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
quoting ref: LSG4/894. 17752/AFR. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
