What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 2025. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 2025. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 2025.

NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, intends to make the above Orders under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The general effect of the Orders will be to:
1. Introduce various lengths of additional resident permit holders only parking spaces on Edward Street and Kingston Road into Controlled Parking Zone (HT), the controlled parking zone on these two roads will operate between 9am and 5pm on Monday to Friday inclusive.
2. Introduce various lengths of No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on Alder Crescent, Broad Mead, Birdsfoot Lane, Bishopscote Road, Bradgers Hill Road, Dallow Road, Dunstable Road, Grantham Road, Halyard Close, High Mead, Honeygate, Icknield Way, Lincoln Road, Maidenhall Road, Markham Road, Montrose Avenue, Runley Road, Sandgate Road, Selbourne Road, Sherwood Road, St Andrews Grove, Wordsworth Road.
3. Introduce pay by phone parking charges in the two off-street car parks for Leagrave Park. These parking places would operate Monday to Friday from 8am until 6pm on, and during these times the charges for their use would be either: free of charge for up to 3 hours to all vehicles registered on the cashless parking system or any vehicle that remains parked beyond 3 hours will be required to pay the daily parking charge, with no return within 1 hour permitted.
4. Revoke and remove various lengths of mandatory cycle lane from New Bedford Road.
5. Revoke and remove various lengths of No Waiting at Any Time restriction on Concorde Street and introduce in their place No Waiting Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm restriction.
6. Revoke and remove various lengths of No Waiting Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm waiting restriction from the junction of Blenheim Cresent and Argyll Avenue and introduce in their place No Waiting at Any Time restriction.
7. On Progress Way introduce a loading bay maximum stay 30 minutes with no return within 1 hour.
8. Correct an anomaly between on-street restrictions and the map based plans for Bridge Street, Bute Street, Eaton Green Road, George Street, Manchester Street.
