A21 TRUNK ROAD
(MORLEY’S ROUNDABOUT TO VAUXHALL)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A21 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road by contractors working on behalf of Southern Gas Networks.

The effect of the Order would be to:-

1. authorise, in phases, the overnight closure of the southbound carriageway of the A21 between Morley’s Roundabout (A225/B245) and Vauxhall Interchange (A26/A2014), the northbound carriageway of the A21 between Vauxhall Interchange (A26/A2014) and Quarry Hill (A26); and all slip and link roads leading to and from these lengths of carriageway.

2. authorise the 24-hour closure of all lay-bys adjacent to the lengths of carriageway described in 1. above, and the lay-by adjacent to the southbound carriageway of the A21 between points 728 metres and 1170 metres east of the centreline of Hubbards Hill overbridge.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake under-road ducting/gas main repairs and all associated works.

It is expected that the work would last for 2 nights starting on Saturday 12th July 2025. Night-time closures would start at 20:00 hours for 10 hours (maximum period). Please consult National Highways website for further details.

The Order would come into force on 10th July 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.

Through traffic affected by the closures would be strategically diverted using the A26, A227, and the B245 in either direction. The diversion in operation would vary according to the closure in force.

The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
