Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DARTFORD, GRAVESEND & SEVENOAKS AREAS

VARIOUS ROADS, DARTFORD, GRAVESHAM AND SEVENOAKS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of carriageway patching, surface treatment and associated preparation, finishing and accommodation works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Dartford, Gravesham and Sevenoaks as per the schedule below.

This Order takes effect on or after 14 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. This programme is subject to weather and other factors and may therefore change; every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the programmed dates and duration. Changes will be notified locally and signposted on site.

DARTFORD

Gore Road, Darenth
28 October 2025 to 7 November 2025
Closed between B260 Green Street Green Road and Darenth Park Avenue
Alternative Route via Gore Road West bound A296 Watling Street, B255 Bean Lane, B255 High Street (Bean), B255 Southfleet Road, B262 Sandbanks Hill, B260 Green Street Green Road.
East bound – B260 Green Street Green Road, A296 Princes Road, Gore Road.

Darenth Hill, Darenth
23 October 2025 to 29 October 2025
Closed between B260 Green Street Green Road and Roman Villa Road
Alternative Route via Parsonage Lane, A225 Hawley Road, A225 Lowfield Street, A225 Princes Road, B260 Green Street Green Road.

B260 Green Street Green Road, Darenth
Works starting 15th October 2025 and in total should take 17 nights (excluding weekends) to complete, working hours will be between 20:00 and 06:00 each
The above road will be closed in the phases detailed below.

Phase 1

B260 Green Street Green Road will be closed between the junction of Ladywood Road and Watchgate. Works commence in Phase 1 on 15th October 2025 and should take 6 nights (excluding weekends) to complete. 
Alternative Route Via – B260 Green Street Green Road, Gore Road, A296 Watling Street, B255 Bean Lane, B255 High Street (Bean), B255 Southfleet Road, B262 Sandbanks Hill, B260 Green Street Green Road and vice versa.
Residents requiring access to Watchgate, Bennett Way, Sinclair Way and Moss Way will need to enter and exit from northern (Dartford) extent of the works whilst we work in this phase 1.
Residents requiring access to Ladywood Road, Coombfield Drive, Hill Rise, Lordswood Close, Coller Crescent, Langlands Drive, Ridgeway, Hillside, Court Road, St Luke close and Stevens Close will need to enter and exit from the southern (Longfield) extent of the works whilst we work in phase 1.

Phase 2

B260 Green Street Green Road will be closed between the junctions of Hill Rise, Gore Road and Darenth Hill at the junction of Roman Villa Road. Works commence in Phase 2 on 23rd October 2025 and should take 4 nights (excluding weekends) to complete. 
Alternative Route via Gore Road, A296 Watling Street, B255 Bean Lane, B255 High Street (Bean), B255 Southfleet Road, B262 Sandbanks Hill, B260 Green Street Green Road and vice versa.
Alternative Route from Darenth Hill junction/Roman Villa Road via Darenth Hill, Parsonage Lane, A225 Hawley Road, A225 Lowfield Street, A225 Princes Road, B260 Green Street Green Road and on to the above diversion.
Residents requiring access to the northern extent of B260 Green Street Green Road, Wood lane and Littledale will need to enter from Dartford the extent of the works whilst working in this phase.
Residents requiring access to Darenth Village will need to enter from the southern (Longfield) extent of the works whilst we work in phase 2.

Phase 3

B260 Green Street Green Road will be closed between the junctions of Darenth Hill and Orbital One industrial Park. Gore Road will also be closed at the junction Darenth Park Avenue. Works commence in Phase 3 on 29th October 2025 and should take 7 nights (excluding weekends) to complete. 
B260 Green Street Green Road, Gore Road, A296 Watling Street, B255 Bean Lane, B255 High Street (Bean), B255 Southfleet Road, B262 Sandbanks Hill B260 Green Street Green Road and vice versa.
Alternative Route from Orbital One via B260 Green Street Green Road, A296 Princes Road, join diversion from Gore Road.
Alternative Route from Gore Road/Darenth Park Avenue closure will need to exit Gore Road and Join the above detailed diversion route.
Residents requiring access to the northern extent of B260 Green Street Green Road including Wood Lane and Littledale will need to enter from the Longfield extent of the works whilst we work in phase 3.

A225 Hawley Road, Hawley
Works starting in 2026 working hours will be between 20:00 and 05:00 each Night.
The above road will be closed Between Shirehall Road and Church Hill.
Alternative Route via Parsonage Lane, Darenth Hill, B260 Green Street Green Road, A225 Princes Road, A225 Lowfield Street, A225 Hawley Road and vice versa.

Milton Road, Swanscombe
Works starting 20th October 2025 and should take 8 days (excluding to complete, working hours will be between 08:00 and 18:00 each day.
The above road will be closed between the junctions of Craylands Lane and Stanley Road.
Alternative Route via Craylands Lane, London Road, High Street Milton Road and vice versa.
Sweyne Road will be closed at the junction of Milton Road. Residents of Sweyne road will need to enter and exit via Sweyne Road, Ames Road and onto the above detailed diversion route.

A2018 Old Bexley Lane, Dartford Heath
Works starting 26th August 2025 and should take 5 nights (excluding to complete, working hours will be between 22:00 and 05:00 each Night.
The above road will be closed between the Roundabout of A2 Rochester Way and the roundabout of Rochester way in northern direction only.
Alternative Route via A2018 Old Bexley Lane, Oakfield Lane, Heath Lane (upper), B2174 Princes Road and Shepherds Road.

A225 Princes Road, Dartford
Works starting 25th  September 2025 and should take 13 nights (excluding weekends)  to complete, working hours will be between 20:00 and 06:00 each
The above road will be closed between the Roundabout of Park Road Roundabout and the junction of Darenth Road. This closure includes the dedicated Fastrack bus Lane between the closure points mentioned above.
Alternative Route East to West Via A225 Princes road, A225 Lowfield Street, A226 Instone Road, A226 Highfield Road, A226 Westgate Road, A226 Home Gardens, A226 East Hill and A296 Park Road.
Alternative Route East to west Via A296 Park Road, A226 East Hill, A226 Overy Liberty, A226 Market Street, A226 Lowfield Street and A225 Princes Road.
B260 Green Street Green Road and Park Road will also be closed between at the Princes Road Roundabout.

GRAVESHAM

A226 Crooked Lane, Gravesend
Works starting 14th July 2025 for approximately 2 weekday nights, working hours between 20:00 and 05:00.
The above road will be closed between the junctions of West Street/Church Street and The Terrace/Queen Street.
Alternative route via West Street, Thames Way, A226 Thames Way, Springhead Road, Hall Road, Earl Road, Perry Street, Pelham Road South, B261 Old Road West, B261 Old Road East, A226 Rochester Road, A226 Milton Road East, Milton Road and Queen Street.

Harmer Street, Gravesend
Works starting 19th September 2025 for approximately 6 weekday nights, working hours between 20:00 and 05:00.
The above road will be closed between the junction of The Terrace and Milton Road. To facilitate the resurfacing works we will also need to close West street at the junction of Church Street and the full extent of Crooked Lane and The Terrace to the junction Harmer Street.
Alternative route via – West Street, Thames Way, A226 Thames Way, Springhead Road, Hall Road, Coldharbour Road, A227 Wrotham Road, Old Road East, A226 Rochester Road, A226 Milton Road East, Milton Road and Queen Street.
The Traffic lights at junction of Milton Road, Ordnance Street and Milton Place replaced with Temporary Traffic Signals. Milton Place will also be changed to 2way traffic between Milton Road and Khartoum Place between working hours.

St Francis Avenue, Gravesend
Works starting 01st August 2025 for approximately 19 days, working hours between 08:00 and 18:00.
The above road will be closed between the junction of St Hilda’s Way and Leander Drive.
Alternative route via St Hilda’s Way, Valley Drive, Marling Way and Leander Drive and Vice Versa

A227 Wrotham Road, Meopham
Works starting 7th August 2025 for approximately 4 weekday nights, working hours between 20:00 and 05:00.
The above road will be closed between the junction of Johns Road and Nash Bank.
Alternative route via A227 Wrotham Road, Coldharbour Road, Hall Road, New Barn Road, Longfield Road, A227 Wrotham Road and Vice Versa.

A227 Thames Way, Gravesend
Works starting in 2026 for approximately 10 nights, working hours between 20:00 and 05:00.
The above road will be closed between the junction of Covesfield Road and Stuart Road.
Alternative route East to West via A226 Thames Way, A226 Overcliffe, Bath Street and West Street.
Alternative Route West to East via A226 West Street, A226 Crooked Lane, A226 The Terrace, A226 Harmer Street, A226 Milton Road, A226 Lord Street, A226 Windmill Street, A226 Woodville Place, A227 Wrotham Road, Rathmore Road, Darnley Road, New Road, A226 Overcliffe, A226 Thames Way.
Access From Clifton Manor Parade Estate Via The Shore, Crete Hall Road, Rosherville Way and Thames Way and on to the above diversions.

SEVENOAKS

B2027 Bough Beech Road, Hever
Works starting in 2026 for 6 nights excluding weekends, working hours between 20:00 and 05:00.
The Above Road will be Closed between Four Elms Crossroads and Five Fields Lane.
Alternative route via B2027 Four Elms Road, Swan Lane, B2026 Mian Road, B2026 Station Road, B2026 Mont St Aignan Way, B2026 High Street, Hever Road, B2027 Chequers Hill, B2027 Clinton Lane and vice versa.

Broomfield Road, Sevenoaks
Works starting 23rd October 2025 for 9 Days excluding weekends, working hours between 08:00 and 18:00.
The Above Road will be Closed between Betenson Avenue and Robyns Way.
Alternative route Via Betenson avenue, Robyns Way and vice versa.

Pilgrims Way West, Otford
Works starting 03rd December 2025 for 11 nights excluding weekends, working hours between 20:00 and 05:00.
The Above Road will be Closed between Rye Lane and Filston Lane.
Alternative route via High Street (Otford), A225 Sevenoaks Road, A225 Otford Road, A25 Bradbourne Vale Road, A224 London Road, Pilgrims Way West and vice versa.

Oakdene Road, Sevenoaks
Works starting 22nd October 2025 for 10 days excluding weekends, working hours between 08:00 and 18:00.
The Above Road will be Closed between A25 Bradbourne Vale Road and Clockhouse Lane.
Alternative route via A25 Bradbourne Vale Road, Lambarde Road, Hill crest and vice versa.
