Canterbury, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

CANTERBURY

B2205 Canterbury Road, Herne Bay, CT6 5TJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025

To allow sign replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2205 Canterbury Road, Herne Bay, from 21:00 hours on 17th July 2025, with estimated completion by 04:00 hours on 18th July 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Parsonage Road and Spenser Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2205 Canterbury Road, High Street, Avenue Road, Sea Street, Greenhill Bridge Road, A2990 Thanet Way, A291 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

B2205 Harbour Street, Whitstable, CT5 1AW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2205 Harbour Street, Whitstable, from 30th June 2025, with estimated completion by 4th July 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Porters Warehouse, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2205 Harbour Street, Cromwell Road, B2205 Oxford Street, High Street and Harbour Street.

A local diversion route will be in place for residents, as displayed on site.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Arden Road, Herne, CT6 7DU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Arden Road, Herne, from 15th July 2025, with estimated completion by 22nd July 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between number 4 and the junction with Hunters Forstal Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hunters Forstal Road and Hawe Farm Way.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Beaconsfield Road, Canterbury, CT2 7HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow defect works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Beaconsfield Road, Canterbury, from 20:00 hours on 30th June 2025, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 1st July 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 28, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Forty Acres Road, A290 Whitstable Road, St Dunstans Street, B2248 Station Road West, St Stephens Road, St Stephen’s Hill, Beaconsfield Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bishopstone Lane, Herne Bay, CT6 6QT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025

To allow blockage clearance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bishopstone Lane, Herne Bay, from 15th July 2025, with estimated completion by 22nd July 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Reculver Road and Reculver Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bullockstone Road, Herne Bay. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow investigation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bullockstone Road, Herne Bay, from 30th June 2025, with estimated completion by 3rd August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the overbridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bullockstone Road, A291 Canterbury Road, Herne Street, Canterbury Road, A2990 Thanet Way, Greenhill Road, Bullockstone Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cornwall Road, Herne Bay, CT6 7QZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cornwall Road, Herne Bay, from 16th July 2025, with estimated completion by 24th July 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between number 6 and the junction with Blackburn Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Coulter Road and Blackburn Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cossington Road, Canterbury, CT1 3JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025

To allow new service works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cossington Road, Canterbury, from 14th July 2025, with estimated completion by 24th July 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite number 51, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2068 Old Dover Road, Oaten Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ellis Way, Herne, CT6 7EY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ellis Way, Herne, from 3rd July 2025, with estimated completion by 7th July 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside numbers 3 and 8, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Maypole Road, Hoath. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Maypole Road, Hoath, from 30th June 2025, with estimated completion by 4th July 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Chapel House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Maypole Road, Ford Hill, Highstead, Boyden Gate Hill, Church Lane, Sandpit Hill, Nethergong Hill, The Glen, A28 Island Road, Staines Hill, Babs Oak Hill, Hoath Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Montague Street, Herne Bay, CT6 8TW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow footway and kerbing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Montague Street, Herne Bay, from 30th June 2025, with estimated completion by 27th July 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

North Stream, Marshside, CT3 4EJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of North Stream, Marshside, from 17th July 2025, with estimated completion by 18th July 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Reynolds Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic northbound is via Chapel Lane, Highstead, Ford Hill, Heart In Hand Road, Maystreet, Sweechbridge Road, A299 Thanet Way, Brook Lane and North Stream.

The alternative route for any through traffic southbound is via North Stream, A299 Thanet Way, Heart In Hand Road, Ford Hill, Highstead and Chapel Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Parham Road, Canterbury, CT1 1GA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025

To allow blockage clearance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Parham Road, Canterbury, from 16th July 2025, with estimated completion by 21st July 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between 1-3 Amandos Court and the junction with A28 Sturry Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Russell Drive, Whitstable, CT5 2RQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025

To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Russell Drive, Whitstable, from 1st July 2025, with estimated completion by 2nd July 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 18:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 109, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Russell Drive, Woodman Avenue, Goodwin Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sun Street, Canterbury. (SUSPENSION OF NO ENTRY AND ONE-WAY ORDER) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025

To allow access for large vehicles and trailers, Kent County Council has made an Order to suspend the No Entry & One-Way Order on part of Sun Street, Canterbury, from 2nd July 2025, with estimated completion by 28th February 2026.

The No Entry and One-Way Order (southbound only) on Sun Street will be suspended between the junction with Guildhall Street and Sun Yard, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Tonford Lane, Thanington Without, CT1 3XZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY ORDER) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tonford Lane, Thanington Without, from 30th June 2025, with estimated completion by 21st September 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A28 Ashford Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Ashford Road, Grays Way, Tonford Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The One-Way Order on Tonford Lane will be suspended for the duration of this closure, to allow for access.

These works are in conjunction with temporary traffic signals on A28 Ashford Road.

 

Waltham Road & Broadway, Petham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025

To allow cabling and pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Waltham Road & Broadway, Petham, from 14th July 2025, with estimated completion by 17th July 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

Waltham Road & Broadway will be closed where the roads meet, heading northwards for approximately 1940m, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Town Road, B2068 Stone Street, Thorn Lane, Dean Bottom, From Dean Bottom To District Boundary, The Street, Waltham Road, Ashenfield Road, Woods Hill, Kake Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
