Broad Street Red Route - To introduce a No Stopping At Any Time

What is happening?

City of Stokeon-Trent (Traffic Regulation) (Broad Street Red Route) (No.06) Order, 2024.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Stoke on Trent made an Order on the 2 May 2025 under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 51 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984. The Order shall come into operation on the 16 June 2025. The effect of this Order is as follows: -

1.Introduce Bus Clearways on Broad Street 42m from Robson Street for 13m

2.To introduce a No Stopping At Any Time (Red Route) in the following lengths of road:

(i)Broad Street (E) 25.8m from Lindsay Street to Victoria Square

(ii)Broad Street (E) from Lindsay Street for 6m 

(iii)Broad Street (S) from Potteries Way to Lindsay Street

(iv)Broad Street (NW) from Potteries Way to Red Lion Passage 

3.To introduce a No Stopping (Red Route) MON-SAT 9.30AM4.30PM AND 6PM-7.30AM EXCEPT FOR DISABLED PARKING FOR 30 MINS NO RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR on Broad Street (NW) 6m from Lindsay Street for 6.6m 

4.To introduce a No Stopping (Red Route) MON-SAT 9.30AM4.30PM AND 6PM-7.30AM EXCEPT FOR LOADING ONLY FOR 30 MINS NO RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR on Broad Street (E) 13m from Lindsay Street for 13.2m 

5.To revoke the provisions in so far as they are affected by the restrictions imposed by this Order.

A copy of this Order, may be examined online at stoke.traffweb.app via Traffic Orders. If you wish to question the validity of this Order or any provision in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the above Act or on the grounds that the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within six weeks of the date hereof apply to the High Court for this purpose.
