What is happening?

GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF C181 CASTLE STREET

CIRENCESTER TOWN COTSWOLD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended to temporarily close part of the C181 Castle Street Road from its junction with Silver Street to its junction with Park Lane for a distance of approximately 131 metres.

The reason for the closure is for the installation of a new electricity main.

The road is expected to be closed from 23rd June 2025 until 27th June 2025 only or until the works have been completed. For further information, please contact Gloucestershire Highways on 08000 514 514 or visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk.

Pedestrian access to premises on or next to the road and emergency access will be maintained.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF B4014 SILVER STREET (TETBURY TOWN) COTSWOLD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the B4014 Silver Street Road, from its junction with The Green to its junction with Gumstool Hill for a distance of approximately 120 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for drainage works.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 407135 ARCHERY ROAD

CIRENCESTER TOWN COTSWOLD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 407135 Archery Road from its junction with Upper Churnside to its junction with Saxon Road for a distance of approximately 236 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for Footway resurfacing works.

The said road is expected to be closed from 14th July 2025 to 1st August 2025 or until the works have been completed.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND RESTRICTION OF VARIOUS ROADS

(COTSWOLD DISTRICT – PARISHES OF FAIRFORD, KEMPSFORD AND MESEY HAMPTON WILTSHIRE COUNTY – PARISH OF MARSTON MEYSEY)

(SWINDON BOROUGH – PARISH OF HANNINGTON) 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council intend to make an Order to temporarily close various roads as described in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) Section 16A, between 16th and 21st July 2025. The Order will also temporarily restrict waiting and loading on roads as detailed.

The reason for the closures and restrictions is to facilitate the Royal International Air Tattoo in the Cotswold District, County of Wiltshire and the Borough of Swindon.

Closures and restrictions will only apply during such time and to such extent as indicated by advance notices and only when prescribed signs are in place.

The Order is necessary to manage traffic and ensure safety of both participants and the general public during the Royal International Air Tattoo 2025, to provide a safe exit route from the site and allow free passage for emergency vehicles.

(WILTSHIRE – PARISHES OF MARSTON MEYSEY & CASTLE EATON) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council, Wiltshire Council and Swindon Borough Council intend to make an Order to restrict the direction of traffic temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended) on the lengths of roads (“the Roads”) as described in the Schedules below:

Schedule 1

One Way Restriction

A one-way restriction will exist on road numbers 3/172 Whelford Road, 40994 Top Road, 40995 Mount Pleasant, 3/175 High Street and 3/172 Chapel Road, commencing in a north westerly direction from a point at the junction of Road No. 3/172 Whelford Road and Road No. 40994 Top Road, continuing in a north westerly direction on Road No. 40994 Top Road for approximately 325 metres and then, in a south westerly direction, on Road No. 40995 Mount Pleasant for approximately 146 metres, in a south westerly direction, on Road No. 3/175 High Street, Kempsford, and then finally in a south easterly direction for approximately 465 metres on said path to its junction with Road No. 3/172 Chapel Road for approximately 163 metres in a north westerly direction to a point at its junction with Road No. 40994 Top Road where the restriction ceases.

The one-way restriction as described in Schedule 1 will be in effect from:

06:00 hrs Friday 18th July 2025 to 21:00 hrs Sunday 20th July 2025.

Alternative Route: There is no alternative route for this restriction.

Schedule 2

One Way Restriction

A one-way restriction shall apply to traffic heading north from the junction of Road No. 40994 Top Road, Kempsford with Road No. 3/172, Whelford Road for approximately 4 km to its junction with the A417, London Road.

It is anticipated that the road described in Schedule 2 will be restricted between 06:00 hrs and 15:00 hrs on the 18th and 20th July 2025 daily.

Alternative Route: As signed on site.

Schedule 3

One Way Restriction

A one-way restriction shall apply to traffic heading southwest from a point at the junction of Road No. 3/172, Whelford Road, with the A417 London Road, for approximately 4 km to its junction with Road No. 40994 Top Road, Kempsford.

It is anticipated that the road described in Schedule 3 will be restricted between 15:00 hrs and 22:00 hrs on the 18th and 20th July 2025 daily.

Alternative Route: As signed on site.

Schedule 4

One Way Restriction

A one-way restriction shall apply to traffic heading north from the junction of the A417 London Road (Road No. 40974), near to Earls Cottages (formerly Butler Fields), Fairford, to a point on Road No. 40974 for approximately 700 metres to its junction with Road No. 3/161 approximately 1 km east of Fairford.

It is anticipated that the road restriction will be between 06:00 hrs and 15:00 hrs on the 18th and 20th July 2025 daily.

A one-way restriction shall also be reversed and apply to traffic travelling south on Road No. 40974 (London Road) to Road No. 3/161 for approximately 700 metres to its junction with the A417, and will be in effect between 15:00 hrs and 22:00 hrs on the 18th and 20th July 2025 daily.

Alternative Route: As signed on site.

Schedule 5

One Way Restriction

A one-way traffic restriction shall apply to traffic travelling north-west on Road Number 3/174, from the junction of The Street, with Marston Meysey Lane, Marston Meysey, to the junction with High Street, Meysey Hampton, a distance of 2.4 km, to include that section of road within the County of Wiltshire.

It is anticipated that the road restriction will be between 06:00 hrs and 15:00 hrs on the 18th and 20th July 2025 daily.

The one-way restriction shall be reversed and apply to traffic travelling south-east on Road Number 3/174, from its junction with High Street, Meysey Hampton to its junction with The Street and Marston Meysey Lane, Marston Meysey.

It is anticipated that the road restriction will be between 15:00 hrs and 22:00 hrs on the 18th and 20th July 2025 daily.

Alternative Route: As signed on site.

The restrictions are necessary to maintain public safety and provide a safe route for vehicle management during the Royal International Air Tattoo 2025, and to provide effective traffic management during the same.
