What is happening?

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL, CLUTTON RURAL DISTRICT DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL
(PUBLIC BRIDLEWAYS CL6/45 AND CL11/41, GREYFIELD, CLUTTON AND HIGH LITTLETON) MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above Order made on 30th January 2025, has been confirmed by Bath and North East Somerset Council without modification.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by: adding to them the BR from Maynard Terrace in Clutton at ST 6321 5904 and proceeding generally ESE direction for approx. 14m to a gap adjacent to a locked field gate at ST 6322 5903. The route continues generally ESE for approx. 380m to FP CL6/4 at ST 6354 5883. The route continues generally ESE for approx. 245m to a gap adjacent to a locked vehicle barrier at ST 6376 5872. The route continues generally ESE for approx. 245m to a junction with FP CL6/40 at ST 6397 5859. upgrading to BR the public right of way from ST 6397 5859 and proceeding in a generally NE for approx. 83m to Greyfield Road in High Littleton at ST 6404 5864. varying the particulars relating to the footpath from Bendalls Bridge and running in a SE direction to the former railway line. It then continues E across fields to BR CL6/45 at ST 6354 5883. From the other side of the BR it continues on the N side of ‘Greyfields’ running E into Gores Park.

The order came into effect on 12th June 2025 but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, within forty two days from the date of this notice make an application to the High Court.
