What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) Gastons Road, Malmesbury; from its junction with Burnham Road to its junction with Sherston Road to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works and other associated works. Alternative route via Sherston Road – Parklands – Old Alexander Road – St John’s Road – Burnham Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach on 0800 023 2023.
B) A342 (Part), Rowde; from its junction with Close Lane to its junction with Cock Road to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer repair works under a manhole cover and other associated works. Alternative route via A342 (unaffected length) – B3101 – A361 – A365 – A350 – Spa Road – Snowberry Lane – Melksham Field Road – Eastern Way – A3102 – A342 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 for 1 night. C) C192 (Part), Burbage; from its junction with High Street for a distance of approximately 1km in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out installation of communication equipment and associated works. Alternative route via C192 (unaffected length) – C74 – C30 – A338 – C192 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. D) Whychurch Road, Malmesbury; from its junction with Webbs Way for its entire length to enable Openreach to carry out excavation works and associated works. No alternative route is available. E) Sandown Drive (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Aintree Drive to its junction with Fakenham Drive to enable Wessex Water to carry out frame cover repair and replacement works and other associated works. Alternative route via Sandown Drive (unaffected length) – West Cepen Way – Bath Road – Sandown Drive (unaffected length) and vice versa. F) Keynsham Lane (Part), Pewsey; from outside its property known as Courtenold Cottage for a distance of approximately 125m in a south easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out a mains connection and other associated works. G) A361 (Part), Bishops Cannings, All Cannings, Stanton St Bernard and Woodborough; from its junction with the canal towpath near All Cannings Bridge to its junction with the railway bridge (outside property known as 1 Railway Cottages) to enable replacement of a manhole and cover and frame and other associated works. Alternative route via A345 – A4 – A342 – A3102 – A342 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 July 2025 and the closure will be required for 2 days.
H) UC 937801, Sutton Benger; from its junction with B4069 for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out urgent carriageway resurfacing works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 18 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 until 22 July 2025. I) Castle Lane (Part), Devizes; from its junction with Market Place for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out blockage clearance, install a connection and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order came into operation on 24 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 for 2 days. This Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. M) Argyle Drive (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Footpath 114, Chippenham for a distance of approximately 30m in an easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out frame cover repair and replacement works and other associated works. This Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 3 days. P) A345 (Part), Upavon; from its junction with A342 to its junction with the bridge over the River Avon for a distance of approximately 265m in a northerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer repairs and all replacement works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 24 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 3 days. Q) A3102 (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett; from its junction with the A3102 roundabout near Hunts Mill Road to its junction with the roundabout near New Road – Nore Marsh Road – Bincknoll Lane – A3102 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 5 days. This Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 5 days. T) C52 (Part), Manningford; from its junction with Mill Road for a distance of approximately 265m in a southerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out water main replacement and associated works. Alternative route via C52 (unaffected length) – A345 – C52 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 June 2025 and the closure will be required until 28 July 2025. Orders A) to S) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Phase 1: Queen Street (Part), Purton, Brinkworth and Charlton; from its junction with C76 for a distance of approximately 1.4km in a westerly direction.
Phase 2: C76 (Part), Purton; from its junction with C88 to outside its property known as Church Farm.
Phase 3: C88 (Part), Brinkworth; from its junction with Queen Street to its junction with C76 known as Byway 61, Brinkworth.
Phase 4: Byway 61, Brinkworth; from its junction with Queen Street to its junction with C88 to enable construction work to carry out site early works and other associated works.
Alternative routes:
Phase 1: via Queen Street (unaffected length) – C67 – C76 and vice versa.
Phase 2: via C76 (unaffected length) – B4042 – C88 and vice versa.
Phase 3: via C88 (unaffected length) – C76 – B4042 – C88 (unaffected length) and vice versa.
Phase 4: via C88 – Queen Street and vice versa.
The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
Phase 1 and 2: will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and the closures will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 18 July 2025. Upon completion of phase1, phase 2 will follow sequentially.
Phase 3: will come into operation on 21 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 until 25 July 2025.
Phase 4: will come into operation 14 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 until 25 July 2025.
It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending on weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order for phase 1, 2 and 3 will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The Order for phase 4 will have a maximum duration of 06 months.

AC) Footpath 1 (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Bath Road to its junction with Footpath 78, Chippenham to enable CCTV survey and cleaning of the syphon. To do so, we will need access to the over pump and the sewage from MH located in Lovers Walk.

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 to introduce the following restrictions in Savernake in the Parishes of East Wiltshire Consolidation Order 2016 by introducing new Map Schedule Nos. DJ95 and DJ96 the effect of which will be to introduce No Waiting at Any Time on Maurice Way, Savernake – north east side – from its junction with A4 London Road for a distance of 75 metres in a north westerly direction; and Maurice Way, Savernake – south west side – from its junction with A4 London Road for a distance of 72 metres in a north westerly direction.

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and to amend the waiting restrictions in the Devizes Consolidation Order 2017 the effect of which will be to revoke Map Schedule Nos. E557 and F557 dated 16 March 2020 and replace them by the insertion of new Map Schedule Nos. E557 and F557 the effect of which will be to introduce:
No Waiting at any time on Parkfields – north east side – from the north east property boundary of number 20 Parkfields to its junction with a southern easterly direction;
Parkfields – south west side – from a point 6 metres south east of the northern boundary of property No.27 Parkfields to a point 3m south east in a south easterly direction;
Parkfield Terrace – both sides – from its junction with Roundway Park for a distance of 52 metres in a north easterly direction;
Roundway Park – south side – from its junction with Parkfield Terrace for a distance of 107m north westerly to No.14 Roundway Park and 98 metres in a north westerly then westerly direction.
These proposals are intended to improve visibility and reduce congestion. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 11 June 2025 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to introduce a 20mph speed limit on:
C136 (road leading to Norley Lane, Studley) – from its junction with Norley Lane (UC road) to a point 47 metres north of that junction;
C136 Norley Lane, Studley – from its junction with C137 Studley Hill to its junction with Norley Lane (UC road);
C136 Norley Lane, Studley – from its junction with A4 New Road to its junction with C137 Studley Lane;
C137 Studley Hill, Studley – from its junction with C136 Studley Lane to a point 318 metres south west of that junction (including spur);
Norley Lane (UC road), Studley – from its junction with C136 (road leading to Bremhill) to its junction with A4 New Road/Black Dog Hill.

Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Act or on the grounds that any requirement in that Section of the above Act or of the Orders has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of the 11 June 2025, make an application for the purpose to the High Court. The Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025.
