Wigan, Temporary Road Closures Due To Infrastructure & Utility Works
What is happening?
WIGAN COUNCIL
(Factory Street, Tyldesley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025
Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Factory Street, Tyldesley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Factory Street, Tyldesley commencing on 30th June 2025 from 09:00 to 13:00.
Access will be maintained where possible
The Order is necessary to replace frame and cover.
(Arundel Street, Hindley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025
Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Arundel Street, Hindley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Arundel Street, Hindley commencing on 14th August 2025 between the hours of 08:00 to 16:00 only.
The alternative route for traffic is: Chapel Green Road and Blantyre Street
The Order is necessary to replace frame and cover.
(Spa Road, Atherton) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Spa Road, Atherton) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Spa Road, Atherton commencing on 17th August 2025 between the hours of 10:00 and 15:00 only.
The alternative routes for traffic is: Devonshire Road and Fletcher Avenue
The Order is necessary to carry out assesssment of bridge.
(Beech Avenue, Lowton) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025
Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Beech Avenue, Lowton) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 18th June 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Beech Avenue, Lowton commencing on 18th June 2025 to 24th June 2025.
The diversion route for traffic is via: Kings Avenue.
The Order is necessary to allow for Gas Mains Replacement.
