THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(EDINBURGH PRIDE PARADE) (TEMPORARY ROAD

RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025 – TEMP/25/68

The Council, with the consent of Scottish Ministers, has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate the holding of the Edinburgh Pride Parade event, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on the sections of roads specified in Sch 1, where closures will apply to roads in their entirety unless otherwise stated; (b) drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the section of road specified in column 1 of Sch 2, otherwise than in the direction specified in column 2 of Sch 2; & (c) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle on the sections of the roads specified in Sch 3, where prohibitions will apply to both sides of the roads in their entirety unless otherwise stated. Existing parking restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in Sch 3. The Prohibition of Motor Vehicles will be suspended on High St, as affected by Sch 1 & 3. The alternative route for vehicular traffic with respect to Sch 1 is London Rd, Montrose Ter, Regent Rd, Princes St, Sth Saint David St, George St, Sth Charlotte St, Princes St, Lothian Rd, Brougham St, Brougham Pl. Melville Dr, Hope Pk Ter, Bernard Ter, Saint Leonard’s St, Pleasance, Holyrood Rd, Holyrood Gait, Queens Dr, Meadowbank and London Rd. The Order shall have effect on 21/06/2025 during the hours specified in the Schedules. SCHEDULE 1 ROAD CLOSURES: (a) From 11:30hrs to 15:30hrs on: (i) Horse Wynd; & (ii) Queens Dr, from Horse Wynd, southwards for 160m; & (b) From 12:30hrs to 15:30hrs on: (i) Bristo Pl; (ii) Canongate; (iii) Chapel St, from Crichton St to W Nicholson St; (iv) Charles St; (v)

Crichton St; (vi) George Sq, from Crichton Street westwards for

192m (north leg); (vii) High St; (viii) Lawnmarket, from George IV Bridge to High St; (ix) Marshall St; and (x) Potterrow. SCHEDULE 2 ONE-WAY ROAD: From 12:30hrs to 15:30hrs;

From 08:30hrs to 15:30hrs on; (i) Abbey Strand; (ii) Bristo Pl; (iii) Canongate; (iv) Chapel St, both sides, from the extended sth kerbline of Crichton St southwards to the extended north-west kerbline of West Nicholson St; (v) Charles St; (vi) Crichton St; (vii) Forrest Rd, both sides, from George IV Bridge southwards to Bristo Pl; (viii) George IV Bridge; (ix) George Sq, both sides, from the extended sth kerbline of Crichton St southwards for 60m; (x) High St; (xi) Holyrood Rd, nth side, from the north-east kerbline of Hammerman’s Entry northeastwards to the south-west kerbline of Gentle’s Entry; (xii) Horse Wynd; (xiii) Lawnmarket, both sides, from George IV Bridge eastwards to High St; (xiv) Marshall St; & (xv) Potterrow.
