(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections of roads in the County of Northumberland.

  • A68 Catcleugh to Carter Bar, Catcleugh – for a distance of 4315 metres from its point with Carter Bar heading in a south easterly direction continuing on for a further 6516 metres.
  • A68 Elishaw To Catcleugh, Rochester for a distance of 711 metres from its junction with Silloans Farm Access Road, Rochester heading in a north westerly direction continuing on for a further 3660 metres.

The Order is to be effective from the 30th June 2025 until the 30th August 2025.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 30th June 2025 until the 12th July 2025 between the hours of 19:00 until 06:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until the 30th August 2025.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the A68, A69, A6079 and vice-versa.

Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council for re-surfacing works, new signage and road markings. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
