Hertfordshire, Temporary Road Closures & Waiting Restrictions Due To Utility Service Works

What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRIDGE ROAD, WOOLMER GREEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bridge Road, Woolmer Green from its junction with B197 London Road north westwards to its junction with Bridge Road, a distance of approximately 25m (“the Road”), except for access.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order shall come into effect on 7 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions may not all take effect at the times indicated by signs or at once. The restrictions shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs or when the temporary traffic signs are in place, whichever is earlier.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN KIMPTON, CODICOTE AND PETERS GREEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), and to prohibit waiting and loading at all times on both sides of the lengths of Roads listed when signs are in place:

  1. That length of High Street/Kimpton Road, Codicote from its junction with B651 Ballslough Hill southwards for a distance of approximately 180m, except for access.

  2. An alternative route will be via B651 High Street/Kimpton Road, Codicote north as signed on site.

  3. That length of B651 High Street/Biddenham Road from Hill/Hillgh Street, Codicote Road, Whitwell Road, B656 High Street, Codicote, and rejoin at junction with waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads when works are in progress:

  4. That length of Kimpton Road/Kimpton Road, Codicote from its junction with B651 High Street/Hillgh Road south westwards to its junction with The Green, a distance of approximately 800m.

  5. An alternative route will be via B651 (Welwyn, Kimpton and Kimpton Road, Potters Heath Lane), B656 Lower Luton Road, Lower Harpenden Road, Chiltern Green Road and The Green.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. The Order shall come into effect on or after 7 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions may not all take effect at the times indicated by signs or at once.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PARKSIDE, NEWLYN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Parkside, Newlyn from its junction with the north side of the turning head north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 18m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available when the works are being carried out. However, vehicle access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order shall come into effect on or after 7 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions may not all take effect at the times indicated by signs or at once.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN CLIVE CLOSE AND LAUREL AVENUE, POTTERS BAR) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of the lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:

  1. That length of Clive Close, Potters Bar from its junction with Laurel Avenue north westwards, south westwards and northwards for its entire length, a distance of approximately 74m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  1. That length of Laurel Avenue, Potters Bar from its junction with Clive Close south eastwards and south westwards, a distance of approximately 74m.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order shall come into effect for a period of 12 months from 22 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions may not all take effect at the times indicated by signs or at once.

A copy of the Orders may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9am and 5pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).

The making of Traffic Regulation Orders is a statutory function of the County Council. Any person wishing to question the validity of an Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the legislation or that any requirement of the legislation has not been complied with may do so within six weeks of the date of the Order by application to the High Court.
