What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MOUNT STREET, BRIERFIELD, PENDLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING OR UNLOADING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Mount Street, Brierfield from its junction with Hill Street to its junction with the Rear 2 to 20 Wood Street.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours until 1600 hours on 2nd July 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained. Access will be maintained for emergency services whenever and wherever possible.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic is not available at this location.
AND FURTHER – During the closure a temporary restriction of waiting and loading and unloading will be in place to facilitate a safe environment whilst building maintenance works are being completed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow building maintenance works to be carried out.
