Shropshire - Various Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S –
PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict
the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as
stated below.
The Order/s came into force on 23 rd June 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works
are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative for the duration as stated below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B5068, Elson Road, Ellesmere
Date & Duration: 23rd June 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 14:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Ducting and safe pole testing work.
Alternative Route : B5068, B5069, B5009, A495
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Barrow Street, Much Wenlock
Date & Duration: 29th June 2025 from 08:00 to 06:00 30th June 2025
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Long comm pipe install
Alternative Route : B4376, Merrywell Lane, A458, B4376
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hope Bagot Lane, Hope Bagot
Date & Duration: 25th June 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Renew pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road South, Unnamed road East, B4214, A4117, Caynham Road, Hope Bagot Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Mile Bank, Clive
Date & Duration: 24th June 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 14:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Replace pole in verge.
Alternative Route : Drawell, Station Road, Wayside
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Uffington to Upton Magna
Date & Duration: 27th June 2025 for 6 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure to enable carriageway repairs.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West, B5062, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Suspension of weight restriction for diversion route for North and Mid Wales Trunk road Agency on the B5070 Chirk Bank
Date & Duration: 23rd June 2025 from 20:00 to 06:00 24th June 2025
Purpose: Diversion for NMWTRA, Suspension of Weight restriction and lights on Chirk Bridge.
Alternative Route : Not applicable
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed In between Broomfields and Forton Heath
Date & Duration: 23rd June 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, hydrant reset lid.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road East, Unnamed road South West towards Forton, Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road East through Broomfields
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between A454 and Roughton
Date & Duration: 27th June 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Replace pole
Alternative Route : A454, A458, Unnamed road North
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between B4368 and Rushbury
Date & Duration: 26th June 2025 for 1 day between 09:00 to 14:00
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Replace pole
Alternative Route : B4368, Unnamed road North towards Longville in the Dale, B4371, Unnamed road South, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Calverhall and Longslow
Date & Duration: 24th June 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road closure - Boundary Box Install
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West towards Longford, Unnamed road North West through Moreton Say, Bletchley Road, New Street Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Forton Heath and Leaton
Date & Duration: 29th June 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure to provide safe working area for
engineers to replace BT pole.
Alternative Route : B5067, B4397, A5, Unnamed road North East through Forton Heath
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Hinwood and Asterley
Date & Duration: 23rd June 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure required for safe access to pole test and tree cutting.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West, B4387, B4386, Hinwood Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Newhouse Lane and Stapleton
Date & Duration: 23rd June 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure required for pole replacement works.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West through Church Pulverbatch, Shrewsbury Road through Longden Common and Longden, Unnamed road South East towards Stapleton, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Whitton and Greete
Date & Duration: 24th June 2025 between 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-Tree trimming - No excavation
Alternative Route : Unnamed road East, B4214, Unnamed road West, Unnamed road North
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Coppice crossroads to Upton Magna, Upton Magna
Date & Duration: 23rd June 2025 for 5 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure to enable carriageway repairs.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road North West through Uffington, B5062, Unnamed road South
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road from B5063 to Stanton Upon Hine Heath
Date & Duration: 24th June 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road closure - Replace decayed pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, A53, Unnamed road North West towards Stanton Upon Hine Heath, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Heathcote, Wistanswick
Date & Duration: 25th June 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Swap pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North towards Heathcote, Unnamed road East towards Wistanswick, Unnamed road South
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Kenwick Park
Date & Duration: 23rd June 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Hydrant Rebuild chamber
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West, Unnamed road North East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from parking, waiting and loading between 12 to 18 Whitehorse Passage, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 27th June 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Temporary Parking Restriction - Severn Trent Water, survey of sewer network.
