What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(COLLINGHAM FOOTPATH NO.21)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.3 ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Collingham Footpath No.21) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2024 (which came into force on 25th June 2024 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order, which was further continued in force by a Continuation No.2 Order which remains in force until 24th June 2025 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 24th December 2025 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect:-
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
in the following length of Footpath at Collingham in the District of Newwark and Sherwood: -
Collingham Footpath No.21, from Carlton Ferry Lane to Collingham Footpath No.31.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no alternative route available on public rights of way. I
f the works are not completed within the above period the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required to enable works to be carried out to reconstruct the footpath following serious flood damage earlier in the year, and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.
