What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHEMPSTEAD LANE, DANE END) ORDER NO.2 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Whempstead Lane, Dane End from a point 57m north east of its junction with Whempstead Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 20m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Whempstead Lane, Whempstead Road, A602 Tonwell Bypass, Sacombe Pound, Munden Road and Whempstead Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HAGSDELL ROAD, HERTFORD) ORDER NO.2 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hagsdell Road, Hertford from a point 108m south west of its junction with Mangrove Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 59m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Hagsdell Road, Mangrove Road, A414 (London Road/Gascoyne Way), B158 Hale Road, Hale Road, Queens Road and Hagsdell Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MARSHALLS LANE, HIGH CROSS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Marshalls Lane, High Cross from a point 260m north west of its junction with High Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 50m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Marshalls Lane, High Street, Pest House Lane, Standon Green End, Potters Green, Rowney Lane and Marshalls Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Whempstead Road, Whempstead/Benington from its junction with A602 Tonwell Bypass north westwards, north eastwards, north westwards, south westwards, north westwards, northwards and north westwards to its junction with Town Lane, a distance of approximately 4597m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A602 Ware Road, Ware Road, High Street, Walkern Road, Church Green and Town Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN B158 WADESMILL ROAD, HERTFORD/CHAPMORE END) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B158 Wadesmill Road, Hertford/Chapmore End from its junction with B158 Bengeo Street north eastwards to its junction with the A602 Westmill Road/Anchor Lane roundabout, a distance of approximately 2927m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B158 (Bengeo Street/Port Hill/ Cowbridge/Old Cross/Mill Bridge/The Wash/Parliament Square/ Castle Street), A414 (Gascoyne Way/London Road/Rush Green Link), A10 (unnamed road) and A602 Westmill Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN SHAW CLOSE, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Shaw Close, Cheshunt from its junction with Church Lane northwards and clockwise for a distance of approximately 253m (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN CHESHUNT, GOFFS OAK AND HIGH CROSS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Albury Walk, Cheshunt from its junction with Woodcote Close north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
2. that length of Park View, Cheshunt from its junction with Cock Lane north eastwards and northwards to its junction with Rose Vale, a distance of approximately 345m.
An alternative route will be via Cock Lane, A1170 (High Street/ Charlton Way/Dinant Link Road), Amwell Street, Pauls Lane, Taverners Way, Lord Street and Rose Vale.
3. that length of Whitefields Road, Cheshunt from its junction with B156 Brookfield Lane West south eastwards, south westwards, southwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Church Lane, a distance of approximately 791m.
An alternative route will be via B156 (Brookfield Lane West/ Flamstead End Road) and Church Lane.
4. that length of Crouch Lane, Goffs Oak from its junction with Argent Way south westwards, north westwards, westwards, southwards and south westwards to its junction with Newgatestreet Road, a distance of approximately 1372m.
An alternative route will be via Argent Way, Hammondstreet Road and Newgatestreet Road.
5. that length of Marshalls Lane, High Cross from its junction with High Road north westwards, south westwards, south eastwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Rowney Lane, a distance of approximately 2641m.
An alternative route will be via High Road, Cambridge Road, Anchor Lane, A602 Tonwell Bypass, Sacombe Pound and Sacombe Green Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 23 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GREEN LANE, BRAUGHING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Green Lane, Braughing from its junction with Southfield south eastwards for a distance of approximately 90m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 23 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Barwick Road, Standon from its junction with A120 Kents Lane south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 1200m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A120 Standon Hill, Ermine Street, Gore Lane and Barwick Road.
The Order is needed because utility service and tree cutting works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 23 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Potters Green, Dane End from its junction with Rowney Lane south eastwards to its junction with Standon Green End, a distance of approximately 595m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Whitehill, Munden Road, Sacombe Pound, A602 Tonwell Bypass, Anchor Lane, Cambridge Road, High Road, Ermine Street and Standon Green End or via Standon Green End, Ermine Street, High Road, Cambridge Road, Anchor Lane, A602 (Tonwell Bypass/Ware Road), the A602 Watton at Stone Bypass roundabout, A602 (Ware Road/ Tonwell Bypass), Sacombe Pound, Munden Road and Whitehill.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 26 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Friars Road, Braughing from its junction with Braughing Public Bridleway No.017 south eastwards for a distance of approximately 250m (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 26 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A414 Hertingfordbury Road, Hertford from its junction with the Willowmead/ Campfield Road roundabout north eastwards for a distance of approximately 115m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A414 (Hertingfordbury Road/ Cole Green Bypass/Hatfield Road), B1455 Holwell Lane, B158 (unnamed road/Lower Hatfield Road/Horns Mill Road/Pegs Lane/ Hale Road) and A414 (Gascoyne Way/Hertingfordbury Road).
The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 25 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (BADGERS WALK AND LEONARD DRIVE, BROXBOURNE) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2023
THE HERTFORDSHIRE (BADGERS WALK AND LEONARD DRIVE, BROXBOURNE) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (1984 Act) to introduce new waiting and 20mph speed limit restrictions in parts of Broxbourne as specified in the Schedules to this Notice.
The Orders will come into effect on Sunday 22 June 2025.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders may be viewed from 19 June 2025 to 31 July 2025 during office hours at Main Reception, County Hall, Hertford or online at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting Broxbourne and looking at Ref: B00323.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders, or any of their provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
SCHEDULE 1: No waiting 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday restrictions – affecting those sections of road listed below and as set out in the Order and accompanying plan – Parts of Badgers Walk and Leonard Drive.
SCHEDULE 2: 20 mph speed limit – affecting those sections of road listed below and as set out in the Order and accompanying plan – Entire length of Badgers Walk and parts of Leonard Drive.
