What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND COUNCIL AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.11) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the Schedule below.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of traffic signs. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained for residents and businesses.

The Order will come into operation on 1 July 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months, although it is anticipated that each individual closure will only be required as and when the relevant works take place, which will be between 1 July 2025 and 1 July 2026 and only within the period from 1 July 2025 to 31 December 2025.

SCHEDULE

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

  1. C4015 Queens Drive, Egremont (Ref:TTRC/0151)

    From its junction with the B5345, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 1km.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C4015 Queens Drive, Bookwell, Castle Villas, South Street, C4005, A595 Thornhill and the B5345.

  2. B5344 Drigg (Ref:TTRC/0151)

    From a point approx. 780m south east of its junction with the A595, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 1km.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5344, A595, Gosforth Road, South Parade, The Crescent and Drigg Road.

  3. B5344 Gosforth Crossroads to Corso Lane, Seascale (Ref:TTRC/0151)

    From its junction with the A595 Gosforth to its junction with the B5344 Seascale.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the B5344, A595, Gosforth Road, South Parade, The Crescent, Drigg Road and the B5344.

  4. U4114 Brewery Brow, Parton (Ref:TTRC/0151B)

    From its junction with the A595 to its junction with Main Street.

    Alternative Route: via Main Street (U4070) and the A595.

  5. U4220 New Street, Wigton (Ref:TTRC/0150B)

    From its junction with the B5302 to its junction with the C4200 King Street.

    Alternative Route: via the C4200 (CA4) and the B5345.

  6. C4006 Mirehouse Road, Whitehaven (Ref:TTRC/1507)

    From its junction with the A595 to its junction with Wasdale Road.

    Alternative Route: via the A595, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 1km.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C4206, Aikbank Road and Moresby Parks Road.

  7. C4006 Coach Road, Whitehaven (Ref:TTRC/1507)

    From its junction with Mirehouse Road to its junction with the Aikbank Road.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5345, Coach Road, Station Road, Queen Street, Ginns Brow, Springfield Road, A595 and Mirehouse Road.
