Lady Anne Railway Level Crossing, Batley - Public Diversion Order
What is happening?
NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 –
SECTION 257 AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14
KIRKLEES COUNCIL (FOOTPATH BATLEY 20,
LADY ANNE LEVEL CROSSING, BATLEY)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
On the 11 June 2025 Kirklees Council confirmed the above Order.
The effect of the Order is to divert a public footpath at Lady Anne railway level crossing, Batley, commencing at point A at grid reference SE 2484 2474 and proceeding in a generally westerly direction, across the railway, for approximately 19 metres to point B at grid reference SE 2482 2474, as shown on the order map.
An alternative footpath will be created, as shown on the order map, namely:
A footpath with a surfaced width of 2.1 metres within a 4 metre corridor, commencing at point A at grid reference SE 2484 2474, proceeding in a generally southerly direction for approximately 145 metres via point C at grid reference SE 2486 2464 to point G at grid reference SE 2488 2460 then in an easterly direction for approximately 8 metres to point H at grid reference SE 2488 2460 then in a northerly direction for approximately 45 metres to point E at grid reference SE 2487 2464 then in a westerly direction via a railway footbridge for approximately 44 metres to point F on Rutland Road at grid reference SE 2483 2463.
With a branch commencing at point C at grid reference SE 2486 2464 and proceeding in an easterly direction via steps for approximately 15 metres to point D at grid reference SE 2487 2465 then in a southerly direction for approximately 6 metres to point E at grid reference SE 2487 2464.

The Order comes into force on 11 June 2025 and Kirklees Council hereby certify that the terms of Article 2 of the Order have been complied with but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order,
he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to the Act. Dated: 19 June 2025
