Basingstoke - Temporary Road Closures due to Fibre Installation Works

What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES – DOWN STREET, GLEBE CLOSE, BIBLE FIELDS, CHAPEL CLOSE, NUTLEY LANE, FARLEIGH LANE & DUMMER DOWN LANE, DUMMER, BASINGSTOKE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council has made an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.

ROADS TO BE CLOSED:

  • that part of Down Street between its junction with Glebe Close and its junction with Farleigh Lane.

  • that part of Glebe Close from its junction with Down Street for the extent of the road.

  • that part of Bible Fields between both its junctions with Dummer Down Lane.

  • that part of Chapel Close between both its junctions with Down Street.

  • that part of Nutley Lane from its junction with Farleigh Lane for the extent of the road.

  • that part of Farleigh Lane between its junction with Down Street and its junction with Nutley Lane.

  • that part of Dummer Down Lane between its junction with Up Street and its junction with Duxford Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:

  • Down Street – A30, Up Street.

  • Glebe Close – N/A

  • Bible Fields – N/A

  • Chapel Close – N/A

  • Nutley Lane – N/A

  • Farleigh Lane - B3046, Garlic Lane - B3046, Garlic Lane, Beggarwood Lane, A30, Down Street.

  • Dummer Down Lane – Up Street, A30, Duxford Lane.

DURATION OF ORDER: from 17th June 2025 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 10 days at a time over 7 separate closures, working between the hours 08:30-18:00).

The road closures have been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for OCU Group to carry out fibre works. If there are any queries or enquiries regarding this Order, please contact: BDUKHampshireStreetworks@OCUgroup.com

OCU Group will provide reasonable facilities to allow access to adjacent premises and provide notice to those directly affected while the work is being carried out.
