ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by motor vehicles on Byway Open to All Traffic on that section of the U6040 Corridge Junction To Middleton Junction from its junction with the C158 heading in a southerly direction for a length of 2340 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 27th June 2025 until the 10th November 2025.
The byway open to all traffic will be closed at all times during this period.
There is no alternative route available.
Access will be given to residents, businesses and farm vehicles.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council due to severe ruts throughout which mean land is starting to slip and give way. Ruts are causing damage to vehicles and diesel spillages. Severe flooding along sections which is making it impassible for traffic and a danger to walkers.
In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
