CITY OF DONCASTER COUNCIL
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NUMBER 2 AUSTERFIELD DONCASTER
PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS
TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
EXTENSION NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the above named Order made by
City of Doncaster Council on the 14th day of March 2024
which came into force on the 25th day of March 2024 and
extended until the 27th day of June 2025 has been continued
in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for
Transport under section 15(3) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary
Restrictions) Act 1991 up to and including the 19th day of
June 2026. The Order would otherwise have expired on the
27th day of June 2025.
The Order was made to ensure the safety of the public and
the workforce whilst construction work is carried out on the
golf course development.
Reason for the further extension of the temporary order is that
the works are still progressing on the new roads and
footpaths into and around the site including the new public
footpath, but the developer has experienced delays with the
installation of mains services and therefore the work is not
complete and will not be until Spring/Summer 2026, which is
later than originally planned. The area is still a construction
site, and it is not safe for the public to use the paths.
NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for
footpassengers affected by the Order is along Bridleway No.3
Austerfield and the footway adjacent to the A614 Bawtry Road
and vice versa.
The order will continue in force up to and including the 19th
day of June 2026 or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out in the said public footpath have been completed,
whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within
the time stated, the Order may be further extended with the
approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. (PO604)
