TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

ATTLEBOROUGH – B1077 Queens Road from 24m south of its junction with 3P264 Queens Close for 74m south eastwards and

B1077 Queens Square from its junction with B1077 Queens Road for 77m northwards and

B1077 Church Street from its junction with B1077 Queens Square for 197m eastwards to facilitate new connection works.

The Roads 1) and 2) will be temporarily closed and Road 3) shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the one-way system (eastbound) to allow vehicles to travel in both an easterly and westerly direction between 19:00 on 19th June and 06:00 on 20th June 2025 (may continue until 1st August 2025). Alternative route is via: B1077 Queens Road/Ellingham Road, 3314A Deopham Road, A11, B1172 London Road, Station Road, A11, B1077 Norwich Road, B1077 Church Road and vice versa (Besthorpe, Attleborough, Wymondham). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

BAWDESWELL AND BILLINGFORD – B1145 Billingford Road/Bawdeswell Road/The Street from its junction with A1067 Fakenham Road to its junction with U35224 Festival Road to facilitate stud removal works between 19:00 and 05:00 from 20th to 25th June 2025 (may continue until 6th August 2025). Alternative route is via: B1110 Broom Green Road – B1110 Broom Green/Bridge Road, A1067 Norwich Road/Fakenham Road, B1145 Billingford Road/The Street/Back Lane, B1110 Holt Road/Pump Street/Broom Green Road and vice versa (Guist, Bawdeswell, Billingford, Twyford, North Elmham, Bintree, Foxley). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

BRAMERTON – 1) U78041 Framingham Lane from its junction with C202 The Street to its junction with Bullockshed Lane and 2) Bullockshed Lane from its junction with U78041 Framingham Lane to its junction with U78041 Framingham Lane to enable installation of a new fibre network for Building Digital UK from 16th June to 4th July 2025 only whilst signs indicate closures are in place (may continue until 15th August 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, Kirby Road, Mill Lane, Framingham Lane (Kirby Bedon, Bramerton). The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: CityFibre Metro Networks Ltd.

NB – Please note that the closures of the two sections of Framingham Lane will not be closed at the same time.

CLAXTON – U76328 Folly Lane from its junction with C202 The Street for 1220m southwards to facilitate installation of a new fibre network from 18th to 27th June 2025 (may continue until 8th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Chapel Road, Church Road, Hall Road, Claxton Church Lane, Claxton Corner, The Street (Claxton, Rockland St. Mary, Ashby St. Mary). The works promoter is CityFibre Metro Networks.

CRANWORTH – C160 Woodrising Road from its junction with C161 Southburgh Road for 1309m southwards to facilitate carriageway patching works from 16th to 20th June 2025 (may continue until 1st August 2025). Alternative route is via: C160 Woodrising Road, B1108 Norwich Road, A1075 Cadman Way/Dereham Road/Watton Road/High Street/Church Close/Market Street, B5042 Pound Green Lane/Townshend Place, C160 Mill Road and vice versa (Carbrooke, Scoulton, Cranworth, Watton, Ovington, Shipdham, Saham Toney). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council

DEREHAM – C214 Swanton Road from its junction with U30114 Lime Tree Close to its junction with U30116 Swanton Drive to facilitate carriageway surfacing works from 16th June to 13th July 2025 (may continue until 13th January 2026). Alternative route is via: C214 Swanton Road/Dereham Road, C888 Tuddenham Road/Mowles Road/Main Road/Etling Green, C888/C553 Norwich Road, C496 Norwich Street, C585 Matsell Way, C553 Neatherd Road, 30113 Kings Road and vice versa (North Tuddenham, Dereham, Swanton Morley). The works promoter is Smiths Civil Engineering.

DISS – A1066 Park Road from its junction with B1077 Denmark Street for 180m eastwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works from 20:00 on the 16th to 06:00 on the 17th June 2025 (may continue until 29th July 2025). Alternative route is via: A1066 Stanley Road/High Road/Low Road/Diss Road, B1113 Redgrave Road/Hall Lane/Bury Road, A143 Bury Road/Old Bury Road, B1077 Stuston Road, A1066 Diss Road/Victoria Road. The works promoter is Connect Consultants.

EASTON – C168 Marlingford Road from its junction with U78224 Broomlane for 160m northwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on the 17th June 2025 (may continue until 29th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Marlingford Road, Dereham Road, Long Lane, Bawburgh Road, Easton Road (Bawburgh, Marlingford and Colton, Costessey, Easton). The works promoter is BT.

ELSING – 1) C212 Mill Street from 120m west of its junction with U35062 Mill Street for 220m northwards and 2) U35062 Mill Street from its junction with C212 Mill Street for 60m eastwards to facilitate duct and cabinet installation works from 16th to 27th June 2025 (may continue until 8th August 2025). Alternative route is via: C212 Mill Street/Rectory Road, C213/C198 Heath Road, C198 The Common/The Street/Lyng Road, A1067 Main Road/Fakenham Road, C212 Elsing Lane and vice versa (Lyng, Elsing, Sparham, Bawdeswell, Bylaugh). The works promoter is CityFibre Metro Networks.

FORNCETT – C344 Low Road from its junction with U76096 Cheneys Lane for 100m southwards to facilitate patching works from 16th to 20th June 2025 (may continue until 1st August 2025). Alternative route is via: Low Road, Mill Road, Long Stratton Road, Valley Farm Lane, Cheneys Lane (Forncett, Tacolneston). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

FRANSHAM – C240 Station Road from 252m southward of its junction with U35181 Dereham Lane for 50m southwards to facilitate Anglian Water meter exchange works between 08:00 and 16:00 on the 17th June 2025 (may continue until 29th July 2025). Alternative route is via: C240 Station Road/Beeston Road, C123 Necton Road, C117 Station Road/Dunham Road, A47 and vice versa (Little Dunham, Fransham, Great Dunham, Necton). The works promotoer is Anglian Water.

GARVESTONE, REYMERSTON AND THUXTON – C198 Mattishall Road from 400m north of its junction with U35020 Brakefield Lane for 300m north eastwards to facilitate BT pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on the 19th June 2025 (may continue until 31st July 2025). Alternative route is via: C198 Thuxton/Thuxon Road, U35016 Windmill Lane, U35014 Garvestone Road/Mattishall Road/Town Lane, B1135 Dereham Road, C198 Station Lane and vice versa (Mattishall, Garvestone, Reymerston and Thuxton). The works promoter is BT.

GELDESTON – C391 Stockton Road from its junction with A143 Yarmouth Road to its junction with C588 Yarmouth Road to facilitate Norfolk County Council repairs to passing places from 19th to 20th June 2025 (may continue until 1st August 2025). Alternative route is via: A143 Yarmouth Road, Church Road, Yarmouth Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

GREAT MELTON – C168 Bow Hill from its junction with B1108 Watton Road for 140m northwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 16th June 2025 (may continue until 28th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Bow Hill, Mill Road, Barford Road, Chapel Street, Cock Street, Watton Road (Wramplingham, Barford, Marlingford and Colton, Great Melton). The works promoter is BT.

GUIST – A1067 Norwich Road from its junction with C199 Foulsham Road for 640m westwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works between 19:00 and 23:59 on 18th June 2025 (may continue until 30th July 2025). Alternative route is via: A1067 Norwich Road/Fakenham Road, B1145 Billingford Road/Bawdeswell Road/The Street/Elmham Road/Station Road/Back Lane, B1110 Holt Road/High Street/Pump Street/Broom Green Road/Broom Green/Bridge Road and vice versa (Bawdeswell, Guist, Twyford, Billingford, Guist, North Elmham, Foxley, Bintree). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

HETHERSETT – B1172 Norwich Road from its junction with C182 Colney Lane for 20m westwards to facilitate resurfacing works between 21:00 and 05:00 from 16th to 21st June 2025 (may continue until 2nd August 2025). Alternative route is via: Norwich Road, Ketts Oak, Norwich Common, Tuttles Lane East, A11 (Hethersett, Wymondham). The works promoter is Breheny Civil Engineering.

LITTLE MELTON – U78135 Braymeadow Lane from its junction with C169 School Lane for 250m southwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 17th June 2025 (may continue until 29th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Braymeadow Lane, Hethersett Lane, Watton Road, Green Lane, School Lane (Colney, Bawburgh, Little Melton). The works promoter is BT.

LITTLE MELTON – C169 Great Melton Road from its junction with U78007 Rectory Lane for 95m westwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 20th June 2025 (may continue until 1st August 2025). Alternative route is via: Market Lane, Hall Road, Watton Road, Green Lane, School Lane, Great Melton Road (Bawburgh, Little Melton, Great Melton). The works promoter is BT.

MARLINGFORD AND COLTON – C174A Church Road from its junction with C162 Barford Road for 90m southwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 18th June 2025 (may continue until 30th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Church Road, Mill Road, Barford Road. The works promoter is BT.

NEWTON FLOTMAN – U78128 Church Road from its junction with the level crossing for 10m northwards and 10m southwards to facilitate track maintenance works between 00:30 and 07:30 on 15th June 2025 (may continue until 27th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Greenways, Station Road, Flordon Road, Ipswich Road, Church Road (Newton Flotman). The works promoter is Network Rail.

TACOLNESTON – B1113 Norwich Road from its junction with U76095 Hurn Lane for 2181m southwards to facilitate surface dressing works from 19th June to 18th July 2025 (may continue until the 18th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Norwich Road, The Turnpike, Market Place, Chapel Street, Castle Hill Road, Haugh Road, Mile Road, Heath Road, Long Row, Station Road, Ipswich Road, Mulbarton Road, Main Road (New Buckenham, Forncett, Bunwell, Pulham Market, Tibenham, Swainsthorpe, Mulbarton, Carleton Rode, Wreningham, Gissing, Old Buckenham, Winfarthing, Bracon Ash, Keswick and Intwood, Stoke Holy Cross, Tivetshall, Wacton, Ashwellthorpe and Fundenhall, Tasburgh, Saxlingham Nethergate, Long Stratton, Swardeston, Caistor St. Edmund and Bixley, Banham, Tacolneston, Aslacton, Newton Flotman). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NB: These works are to be carried out in 3 phases.

  • Phase 1 is between 19:00 on 19th June and 05:00 on 20th June.

  • Phase 2 is between 19:00 on 2nd July and 05:00 on 3rd July.

  • Phase 3 is between 19:00 and 05:00 from 16th to 18th July.

THARSTON AND HAPTON – C497 Low Tharston from 300m west of its junction with U76126 Long Lane for 50m westwards to facilitate meter exchange works on 16th June 2025 (may continue until 28th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Low Tharston, The Street, Fundenhall Road, Hapton Road, B1113 The Turnpike, Norwich Road, Main Road, Mulbarton Road, A140 Ipswich Road, Norwich Road, Bungay Road (Swainsthorpe, Mulbarton, Wreningham, Bracon Ash, Keswick and Intwood, Stoke Holy Cross, Ashwellthorpe and Fundenhall, Tasburgh, Saxlingham Nethergate, Long Stratton, Swardeston, Caistor St. Edmund and Bixley, Tharston and Hapton, Newton Flotman). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

WINFARTHING – B1077 The Street from its junction with C208 Hall Road for 1900m southwards to facilitate surface dressing works from 17th June to 13th July 2025 (may continue until 13th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Short Green, The Street, Mill Road, Diss Road, Winfarthing Road, Church Road, Shelfanger Road, Stanley Road, Park Road, Victoria Road, Diss Road, Ipswich Road, Station Road, Long Row, Heath Road, Mile Road, Heath Road (Pulham Market, Roydon, Tibenham, Diss, Gissing, Heywood, Winfarthing, Dickleburgh and Rushall, Scole, Tivetshall, Shelfanger, Burston and Shimpling, Aslacton). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NB: These works are to be carried out in 3 phases.

  • Phase 1 will be from 17th to 19th June.

  • Phase 2 will be from 26th to 28th June.

  • Phase 3 will be from 11th to 13th July.

BARTON BENDISH – Swaffham Road from its junction with White Road to its junction with Narborough Hill to facilitate carriageway surface treatment works between 07:00 and 13:00 from 14th to 21st June 2025 (may continue until 2nd August 2025). Alternative route is via: Narborough Hill, Swaffham Road, White Road (Barton Bendish, Narborough, Marham). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

BURNHAM NORTON – Marsh Lane from 400m northeast of its junction with A149 Main Road for 30m eastwards to facilitate new connection works from 18th to 20th June 2025 (may continue until 1st August 2025). Alternative route is via: Main Road, Norton Street. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

CLENCHWARTON – Clockcase Road from 3000m north of its junction with Bailey Lane for 50m northwards to facilitate new connection works from 18th to 20th June 2025 (may continue until 1st August 2025). Alternative route is via: Clockcase Road, Hall Road, Main Road, Ferry Road, Bailey Lane. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

CRIMPLESHAM – Fincham Road from its junction with Downham Road for 50m northwards to facilitate meter exchange works from 19th to 20th June 2025 (may continue until 1st August 2025). Alternative route is via: Fincham Road, A10 Downham Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

DOCKING – Brancaster Road from its junction with Delegate Lane for 700m northwards to facilitate safe access to carry out pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 16th June 2025 (may continue until 28th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Brancaster Road, Station Road, Sandy Lane, Church Place, Well Street, Chequers Street, Sedgeford Road, Docking Road, Cole Green, Heacham Road, Lynn Road, Redgate Hill, Ringstead Road, Kings Lynn Road, Cromer Road, Old Hunstanton Road, Main Road, Thornham Road, High Street, Church Lane, Mill Road, Choseley Road (Docking, Titchwell, Old Hunstanton, Heacham, Thornham, Hunstanton, Holme Next the Sea, Brancaster, Sedgeford). DOWNHAM MARKET – Wimbotsham Bridleway 13 from 100m east of its junction with Lynn Road for 200m eastwards to facilitate footpath works for a new estate road from 16th June to 16th September 2025. Alternative route is via: Wimbotsham Bridleway 13, Wimbotsham Bridleway 14, Landseer Drive, Rosemary Way, Railway Road, Ryston End (Downham Market, Wimbotsham).

EMNETH – Outwell Road/Elm High Road from its junction with The Wroe to its junction with the A47 Roundabout to facilitate white lining and stud replacement works between 19:00 on 15th June and 06:00 on 16th June 2025 (may continue until 28th July 2025). HARPLEY – Fakenham Road from its junction with Foxhill Road to its junction with Back Street to facilitate surface dressing works between 19:00 and 05:00 from 14th to 16th June 2025 (may continue until 28th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Fakenham Road, Hillington Road, Anmer Road, Lynn Road, Stanhoe Road, Stocks Close, Docking Road, Syderstone Road, The Green, Rudham Road (Hillington, Docking, Syderstone, Barwick, Flitcham with Appleton, Bircham, West Rudham, East Rudham, Tattersett, Anmer, Bagthorpe with Barmer, Harpley). HUNSTANTON – U20039 James Street from 35m east of its junction with Church Street for 50m eastwards to facilitate Anglian Water main connection works from 16th to 20th June 2025 (may continue until 1st August 2025). Alternative route is via: Church Street, Greevegate, Valentine Road, Westgate. The works promoter is E N Suiter.

KING’S LYNN – Edward Benefer Way from its junction with Edward Benefer Way roundabout for 180m eastwards to facilitate carriageway plane, inlay and lining and construction of maintenance bay works from 14th to 18th June 2025 (may continue until 30th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Edward Benefer Way, John Kennedy Road, Austin Street, Littleport Street, Gaywood Road, Lynn Road, Wootton Road, Low Road (King’s Lynn, South Wootton). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

KING’S LYNN – Hall View Road Footpath from its junction with Hall View Road for 30m northwards to facilitate fire hydrant repair works from 16th to 18th June 2025 (may continue until 30th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Fen Lane, Rookery Way, Parkway. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

KING’S LYNN – Littleport Street from its junction with Austin Street to its junction with Kettlewell Lane to facilitate utility surveying works. The road shall be temporarily subject to a one-way system (westbound) to allow vehicles to only travel in a westerly direction between 20:00 and 06:00 from 19th to 20th June 2025 (may continue until 1st August 2025). Alternative route is via: Austin Street, Blackfriars Road, Railway Road, Norfolk Street, John Kennedy Road, Edward Benefer Way, Low Road, Wootton Road, Lynn Road, Gaywood Road. The works promoter is Cat Surveys.

NORTHWOLD AND WHITTINGTON – School Lane from 40m east of its junction with Methwold Road for 40m eastwards to facilitate new connection works from 17th to 19th June 2025 (may continue until 31st July 2025). Alternative route is via: School Lane, Hall Lane, High Street, Methwold Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

RUNCTON HOLME – Lynn Road from its junction with Stoke Road for 6980m southwards to facilitate white lining and stud replacement works from 16th to 18th June 2025 (may continue until 30th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Lynn Road, Stow Bardolph Bypass, A10/Downham Wimbotsham Bypass, Bexwell Road (Watlington, Stow Bardolph, Stradsett, Downham Market, Wimbotsham, Ryston, Crimplesham, Wormegay, Tottenhill, Shouldham Thorpe, Runcton Holme). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

STOKE FERRY – Oxborough Road from 810m north of its junction with A134 for 100m northwards to facilitate new connection works from 16th to 24th June 2025 (may continue until 5th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Oxborough Road, Stoke Road, Stoke Ferry Bypass A134, Boughton Road North (Stoke Ferry, Boughton). The works promoter is UK Power Network.

TERRINGTON ST. JOHN – Church Road from its junction with A47 slip road for 180m northwards to facilitate carriageway improvement works from 18th June to 2nd July 2025 (may continue until 13th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Church Road, Waterlow Road, Bullock Road, Shepherdsgate Road, School Road, Lynn Road, New Road, Main Road, A47/Walpole Highway Bypass (Tilney All Saints, Terrington St. John, Tilney St. Lawrence, Terrington St. Clement). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

WALSOKEN – Walton Road from its junction with Hunchback Lane for 120m southwards to facilitate new access works from 16th June to 11th July 2025 (may continue until 11th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Walton Road, Wisbech Road, School Road, Lynn Road, Burrettgate Road, Chapnall Road (Walsoken, West Walton, Wisbech St. Mary, Wisbech, South Walsoken). The works promoter is DG Scales.

WALSOKEN – Lynn Road from its junction with Wheatley Bank for 1100m southwards to facilitate white lining and stud replacement works between 19:00 and 05:00 from 20th to 25th June 2025 (may continue until the 6th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Lynn Road, Walton Highway Bypass A47/J B198 East Of Wisbech Roundabout, Wisbech Bypass, A47 From J B198 East Of Wisbech To J A1101/A1122, A47 J A1101 Roundabout, Elm High Road, C309 Weasenham Lane, Churchill Road, Ramnoth Road, Freedom Bridge, Kooreman Avenue (Walsoken, Emneth, West Walton, Wisbech). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

WALSOKEN, WALPOLE, WEST WALTON – B198 Lynn Road from its junction with Common Road North to its junction with B198/32 Lynn Road Roundabout to facilitate transportation of transformers and generators via specialist trailers from 19th June to 16th July 2025 (may continue until 19th December 2025). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Beaumont Traffic Management.

NB – Please note that this shorter distance of road replaces the previously advertised longer section of road.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
