Frimley Green, Camberley - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic For Road Widening And Associated Works

Various Roads in Frimley Green, Camberley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 13 June 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This Order is required to enable Knights Brown Construction Ltd to facilitate S278 road widening and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 25 weeks during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order which commences on 30 June 2025. The working hours are mostly 7.00am to 6.00pm on weekdays but some phases of the work will require nighttime closures between 8.00pm to 6.00am on weekdays. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to properties within the closures and for pedestrians will be maintained at all times.

(a) that length of The Green (D3447) Frimley Green Camberley between its junction with Bedford Lane (D3447) to its junction with Sturt Road (B3411). Alternative route – B3411 (Sturt Road, Guildford Road and Frimley Green Road) and The Green, or this route in reverse. 

(b) that length of Beech Road (D3472) Frimley Green Camberley between its junction with Wharf Road (D3471) to its junction with Buckhurst Road (D3472). Alternative route – Wharf Road, B3411 (Frimley Green Road) and Buckhurst Road, or this route in reverse.

(c) that length of Frimley Green Road (B3411) and Guildford Road (B3411) Frimley Green Camberley between its junction with The Green (D3447) to the roundabout with Sturt Road (B3411) and Guildford Road (B3012). 

(d) that length of Wharf Road (D3471) Frimley Green Camberley between its junction with Frimley Green Road (B3411) to the access for Wharf Road Car Park. 

(e) the entire length of Guildford Road (D3447).

(f) that length of Guildford Road (B3012) between its junction with Frimley Green Road (B3411) and Sturt Road (B3411) to the access for The Rose and Thistle public house. 

(g) that length of Sturt Road (B3411) between its junction with 
Guildford Road (B3411) to the northern boundary of the property 
known as “3 Sturt Road”.

Various Roads in Surrey Heath Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2025

On 17 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to; (a) to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice; (b) impose a 40mph speed limit in; (i) that length of (A322) Bagshot By-Pass that is comprised within the roundabout at the interchange with the M3 between the M3 Junction 3 to Junction 2 on Slip and its junction with (A322 Lightwater By-Pass. (ii) that length of Lightwater By-Pass (A322) Lightwater and Guildford Road (A322) West End as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (A322) Bagshot By-Pass and M3 Junction 3 to Junction 4 on Slip to its junction with (A322) Gordon School Roundabout; (c) Suspend “Borough Council of Woking (Bagshot Road (A322) (40MPH and 50 MPH Speed Limit) Order 1999” and/or any Speed Limit Order made or having effect as if made under Sections 82, 83 and/or 84 of the Act insofar as it affects the length of road described in the Schedule of this Notice. This Order is required to facilitate S278 works including but not limited to: road widening scheme, excavation, construction, drainage, street lighting, road surfacing and signage works and/or maintenance works for Skanska. 

These works are to be completed in phases and are anticipated to be carried out over 34 weeks, which involve day and night closures, daytime closures: between the hours of 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday only, and night-time closures, between the hours of 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday only, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 30 June 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures, speed limit, and suspension, which are anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The speed limit imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 or in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police. 

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closures for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. 

The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
