What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (BIRCH HILL LANE AND CHURCH ROAD, ANGERTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the following sections of road:
Birch Hill Lane, Angerton from its junction with Church Road, extending in a north easterly direction for its entire length.
Duration: From 23 June 2025 for approx. 8 days (Ref: TTROCI/14682)
Church Road, Angerton from its junction with Birch Hill Lane, extending in a north easterly direction for its entire length.
Duration: From 2 July 2025 for approx. 2 weeks (Ref: TTROCI/14682)
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles whilst the restrictions are in place.

The Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
