Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 17th June 2025 it made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all equestrian, cycle and pedestrian traffic from the sections of bridleways and associated footpaths described in the schedule. The Order is required to allow for maintenance works to Hetton Culvert. The order comes into force on 27th June 2025. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be six months. An alternative route will be provided via the adjacent highway network.
Schedule: Hetton Bridleway 32 from its junction with Hollowdene to its western most junction with the unnamed footpath linking Hetton Bridleway 32 to Logan Street; and Springwell Terrace North Back – the unnamed footpath linking Springwell Terrace North Back to Hetton Bridleway 32.
Dated: 18th June 2025. Patrick Melia OBE, Chief Executive, Sunderland City Council, City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland, SR1 3AA.
