Baffins Gas Works - Temporary Road Closure

Portsmouth City Council (Baffins Gas Works) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.107) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 30th June 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
WALLISDEAN AVENUE
From its junction with Stride Avenue for 50 metres.
MYRTLE GROVE
From its junction with Stride Avenue for 50 metres.
MARINA GROVE
From its junction with Stride Avenue to its junction with Cedar Grove.
STRIDE AVENUE
From its junction with Wallisdean Avenue to its junction with Myrtle Grove.
From its junction with Marina Grove to outside No. 91 Stride Avenue.
EBERY GROVE
From its junction with Stride Avenue to its junction with Cedar Grove.
CEDAR GROVE
From its junction with Marina Grove for 30 metres.
JENKINS GROVE
From its junction with Marina Grove for 30 metres.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate gas works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 30th June 2025 to 30th October 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from:
Wallisdean Avenue - Stride Avenue, Lakeside Avenue, Hayling Avenue.
Myrtle Grove - Stride Avenue, Lakeside Avenue, Hayling Avenue.
Marina Grove - Stride Avenue, Ebery Grove, Hayling Avenue.
Stride Avenue - Wallisdean Avenue, Hayling Avenue, Myrtle Grove and Marina Grove, Cedar Grove, Ebery Grove.
Ebery Grove - Stride Avenue, Marina Grove, Cedar Grove.
Cedar Grove - Marina Grove, Stride avenue, Ebery Grove.
Jenkins Grove - Marina Grove, Stride Avenue, Ebery Grove.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
