Swindon, Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?

SECTION 14 – THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURES
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make the following orders:
(STRO01106 Fpaths 20 and 21 Wroughton). This Order is being introduced for WILTSHIRE WILDLIFE TRUST WORKS and will impose a closure of PROW footpath WR20 and WR21 located in Clouts Wood. Alternative route. No access into Woodland while works take place but a signed diversion route will be in place allowing access to all areas. The Order comes into force on the 20 July 2025 for 6 months.
(STRO01120 Swindon Street, Highworth). This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Swindon Street between Brewery Street and Bewley Street. Traffic to be diverted via Brewery Street, Roundhills Mead and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 28 July 2025 for 6 months but works are expected to be completed by 10 August 2025.
(STRO01093 Tattersall, West Swindon). This Order is being introduced for SSE WORKS and will impose a closure of the footpath adjacent to No 21 Tattersall. Pedestrians to be diverted via Bodiam Drive and Idovers Drive to access Tattersall. The Order comes into force on the 21 July 2025 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 21 to 25 July 2025.
(STRO01088 Medgbury Place, Swindon). This Order is being introduced for ELECTRICAL WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Medgbury Place between Bathurst Road and Fleming Way. Traffic to be diverted via Bathurst Road, County Road, Fleming Way, Corporation Street and Broad Street. The Order comes into force on the 7 July 2025 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 7 to 18 July 2025.
(STRO01075 Salzgitter Drive, Swindon). This Order is being introduced for TRAFFIC SIGNAL WORKS and will impose a prohibition of turning right from Thamesdown Drive into Salzgitter Drive. Traffic to be diverted via Thamesdown Drive, Meads Way, turn right at roundabout with Eastbury Way, back onto Thamesdown Drive and proceed along the eastern carriageway of Thamesdown Drive, left into Salzgitter Drive. The Order comes into force on the 28 July 2025 for 6 months but works are expected to take place over 2 weeks from the 28 July 2025.
(STRO01027 Cycle track South View Avenue, Swindon). This Order is being introduced to allow construction works to the former pumping station and will suspend the vehicular restriction on the cycle track for construction vehicles only. The Order will come into force on the 1 July 2025 for 6 months but it is anticipated the suspension will only remain in place until the 31 July 2025.
