Croydon, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Parking Restrictions due to Infrastructure Works and Special Events

CROYDON COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT. 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

CHERTSEY CRESCENT, NEW ADDINGTON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate new electrical installation works, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in Chertsey Crescent, New Addington.

  2. During the work, Chertsey Crescent will be closed between No. 111 Chertsey Crescent and the party wall of Nos. 82 and 84 Chertsey Crescent.

  3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative route for traffic will be via Chertsey Crescent, Overbury Crescent and vice versa.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 17 June 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within 30 days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such an extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work.

    (b) vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

SUNDALE AVENUE, SOUTH CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate new gas connection works by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in Sundale Avenue, South Croydon.

  2. During the work Sundale Avenue will be closed outside No. 157 Sundale Avenue.

  3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative route for diverted traffic will be via Kingsway Avenue, Addington Road, Ashen Vale and vice versa. Access to properties will be maintained.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 16 June 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 25 June 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

DAGNALL PARK, SOUTH NORWOOD

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate a railway bridge inspection, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Dagnall Park, South Norwood.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, the carriageway and western footway of Dagnall Park will be closed either side of railway bridge VTB1/55, between its junctions with Newhaven Road and Saxon Road.

  3. During the closure pedestrians will be diverted to the opposite footway. Cyclists will be diverted via Dagnall Park, Saxon Road, Whitehorse Road, Northcote Road, Selhurst Road and Dagnall Park, via Dagnall Park, Selhurst Road and Dagnall Park, or via Dagnall Park, Newhaven Road, Holmesdale Road, Dagmar Road, Prince Road, Selhurst Road and Dagnall Park.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 03 July 2024, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out overnight from 10pm on 03 July 2025 to 6am on 04 July 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) A vehicle involved in the said work.

    (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

  6. The restriction will only apply during such times and to such an extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

SELHURST ROAD, SOUTH NORWOOD

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF PARKING

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works on behalf of Thames Water to cap the flow between two manholes, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict parking in Selhurst Road, South Norwood.

  2. Whilst the said work is taking place, parking in the unrestricted parking bay opposite Nos. 69 to 73 Selhurst Road will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time.

  3. The Order will come into operation on 29 June 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  4. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) A vehicle involved in the said work.

    (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 16A AS AMENDED

BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION (SPECIAL EVENTS) ACT 1994

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER

LLOYD PARK AVENUE, CROYDON

RACE FOR LIFE - ASSOCIATED RESTRICTIONS

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate the holding of a ‘Race for Life’ in Lloyd Park they intend to make a Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a road closure in Lloyd Park Avenue, at its junction with Coombe Road.

  2. The Order will come into effect on 29 June 2025 and will remain in force for one day.

  3. The closure of Lloyd Park Avenue will be enforced by stewards and access will be maintained for residents of the road.

  4. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) a vehicle being used to carry out the said work.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER

OLD COULSDON VILLAGE FAIR EVENT

ASSOCIATED RESTRICTIONS

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate the forthcoming Old Coulsdon Village Fair event they have made a Traffic Order the effect of which will be to introduce waiting and loading restrictions prohibiting parking “at any time” in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

  2. The provisions of the Order will not prevent access being maintained for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates, or to any other premises accessible from, and only from, such a road.

  3. The Order will come into effect on 12 July 2025 and will remain in force for one day.

  • Canon’s Hill

    Both sides, between its junction with Coulsdon Road and the south-western boundary of No. 1 Canon’s Hill (excluding disabled bays outside the congregational church side entrance).

  • Coulsdon Road

    Both sides, from a point 15 metres north of its junction with Jubilee Way to a point 20 metres south of that junction.

    BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION (SPECIAL EVENTS) ACT 1994

    TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER

    SOUTH NORWOOD FESTIVAL, SOUTH NORWOOD

    ASSOCIATED RESTRICTIONS

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate the South Norwood Festival they intend to make a Traffic Order the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Lawrence Road and Cargreen Road.

    2. During the festival the effect of the Order will be to:

      • Close Cargreen Road between the entrance to South Norwood Recreation Ground and its junction with Lawrence Road.

      • Suspend parking and introduce waiting and loading restrictions operating “at any time” on the north-east (odd-numbered) side of Lawrence Road.

      • Suspend parking and introduce waiting and loading restrictions operating “at any time” on both sides of Cargreen Road between the Recreation Ground entrance and its junction with Lawrence Road.

    3. The provisions of the Order will not prevent access being maintained for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates, or to any other premises accessible from, and only from such a road.

    4. The Order will come into effect on 06 July 2025 and will remain in force for one day.

    5. Nothing in the Order shall apply:

      (a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or Civil Enforcement Officer.

      (b) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
