(Temporary Closure) Order 2025
Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Winstanley Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Winstanley Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield commencing on 13th August 2025 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only.
The alternative route for traffic is: Billinge Road, Newton Road, Main Street, Wigan Road and Ashton Road
The Order is necessary to allow telegraph pole replacement.
(Soughers Lane, Ashton-In-Makerfield)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Soughers Lane, Ashton-in-Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Soughers Lane, Ashton-in-Makerfield commencing on 18th August 2025 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only.
The alternative route for traffic is: Please note there is no alternative route available. The Order is necessary to allow telegraph pole replacement.
(Park Road, Wigan)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2025
Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Park Road, Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Park Road, Wigan commencing on 30th July 2025 between the hours of 12:00 and 16:00.
The alternative route for traffic is: Gidlow Lane, Buckley Street, Walkden Avenue, Kenyon Road, Bridgeman Terrace, New Market Street and Parsons Walk. The Order is necessary to replace frame and cover.
(Darlington Street, Wigan)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2025 Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Darlington Street, Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 21st June 2025. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Darlington Street, Wigan commencing on 21st June 2025 to 22nd June 2025.
The alternative route for traffic is: Chapel Lane, Queen Street, Wallgate, Caroline Street, Chapel Lane and Riverway.
The Order is necessary to allow a New Water Connection.
(Simpkin Street, Abram)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2025 Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and
Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Simpkin Street, Abram) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 28th July 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Simpkin Street, Abram commencing on 28th July 2025 to 20th August 2025.
The alternative route for traffic is: Warrington Road, Bickershaw Lane and Keats Way. The Order is necessary to allow a Gas Mains Replacement.
(Hawthorn Avenue, Orrell)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2025
Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and
Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Hawthorn Avenue, Orrell) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 20th June 2025. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Hawthorn Avenue, Orrell commencing on 20th June 2025 between the hours of 09:30 and 17:00. Access will be maintained where possible.
The Order is necessary to allow Install of a new Pole.
