What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
A28 Chart Road, Ashford, TN23 3HZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025
To allow rail works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Chart Road, Ashford, from 29th June 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the rail bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic westbound is via A28 Chart Road, Chart Road Roundabout, A28 Templer Way, Simone Weil Roundabout, A292 Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Warren Lane, Maidstone Road, New Street and Chart Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic eastbound is via A28 Chart Road, A292 Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Simone Weil Roundabout, A28 Templer Way, Chart Road Roundabout and Chart Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bedlam Lane & Headcorn Road, Smarden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025
To allow tree surgery works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bedlam Lane & Headcorn Road, Smarden, from 23rd June 2025, with estimated completion by 27th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed between Sun Patch Farm and Burnt House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Smarden Road, Biddenden Road, Bell Lane, Mundy Bois Road, Forstal Road, Bedlam Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cobbs Hill, Chilham, CT4 8AL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow drainage cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cobbs Hill, Chilham, from 10th July 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Thorpe Farm and Stowe Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cobbs Hill, Lower Lees Road, Shalmsford Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Maidstone Road, Mulberry Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Kennington Place, Ashford, TN24 9AF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025
To allow road crossing and joint bay works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Kennington Place, Ashford, from 23rd June 2025, with estimated completion by 27th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 3, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Godinton Road, Ashford, TN23 1LS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025
To allow manhole works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Godinton Road, Ashford, from 24th June 2025, with estimated completion by 26th June 2025, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between West Street Roundabout and the junction with James Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Leacon Lane, Charing, TN27 0EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025
To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Leacon Lane, Charing, from 24th June 2025, with estimated completion by 26th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Rose Rest, Westwell Leacon, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 Ashford Road, Maidstone Road, Station Road, Pluckley Road, Leacon Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Quarrington Lane, Brabourne, TN25 5NF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Quarrington Lane, Brabourne, from 23rd June 2025, with estimated completion by 27th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the property Californian Barn, West Brabourne, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Plumpton, Bockham Lane, Quarrington Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Green, Woodchurch, TN26 3PB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Green, Woodchurch, from 23rd June 2025, with estimated completion by 27th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 37, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Road and Front Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Martins, High Halden, TN26 3LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025
To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Martins, High Halden, from 23rd June 2025, with estimated completion by 2nd July 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 9, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Woolpack Hill, Smeeth, TN25 6RN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow underground structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Woolpack Hill, Smeeth, from 7th July 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Church Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Woolpack Hill, Plain Road, Stone Hill, A20 Main Road, A20 Hythe Road, Church Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
