What is happening?

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDERS SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 
COUNTY OF DEVON DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT DEVON COUNTY COUNCIL 
(FOOTPATH NO. 4, TEMPLETON) DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2022 & DEVON COUNTY COUNCIL 
(FOOTPATH NOS. 7A & 7B, HALBERTON) DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2025 

FOOTPATH NO. 4, TEMPLETON

Notice is hereby given that on 19th March 2025 following written representations, an inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, confirmed the above Order without modification. The Order took effect on the date it was confirmed. The effect of the Order as confirmed, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding to them: Footpath No. 4, Templeton from the county road C308 north of Templeton Bridge running south south westwards for 455 metres along a defined lane (Pidland Lane) to the junction with Footpath No. 2, Templeton (GR SS 8778 1441 to SS 8760 1401) in the parish of Templeton and administrative district of Mid Devon. 

FOOTPATH NOS. 7A & 7B, HALBERTON
Notice is hereby given that on 2nd June 2025, with no representations or objections having been received, Devon County Council confirmed the above Order as unopposed. The Order took effect on the date it was confirmed. The effect of the Order as confirmed, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding to them: Footpath No. 7A, Halberton running from Footpath No. 7, Halberton south east of the church yard northwards for approximately 22 metres to the junction with Pond Hill (GR ST 0061 1286 to ST 0061 1289) and Footpath No. 7B, Halberton running from the south east end of Footpath No. 7, Halberton westwards for approximately 180 metres along Corner Lane to the end of the county road (GR ST 0066 1281 to ST 0050 1278) both in the parish of Halberton and administrative district of Mid Devon. 

A copy of the confirmed Orders and the Order maps may be seen free of charge during opening hours at the Tiverton Library, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton EX16 6SA; by appointment at Devon County Council Offices, Great Moor House, Sowton, Exeter EX2 7NL; at www. devon.gov.uk/haveyoursay under Public Rights of Way - Templeton or Halberton and by arrangement with the Templeton or Halberton Parish Clerks. 

An application for any of the reasons stated in Paragraph 12 (1) of Schedule 15 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 may be made to the High Court to quash either Order within 42 days from the date of publication of this notice.
