What is happening?
CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, WAITING/LOADING, NO RIGHT TURN AND SPEED RESTRICTION) – ORDER EVENTS/2025/ NEWMARKET RACES
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council (“the Council”) intends after seven days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to restrict traffic on the roads listed in schedule 1, 2 and 3 and to impose a Speed Limit along all roads in schedule 4 of this order.
The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the restriction on any or all of roads listed on race days.
The Proposed Order will come into operation on 20th June 2025 and will continue until the Newmarket Races 2024 season races have finished on 23rd August 2025.
It is anticipated that the race days will be held on 20th, 21st, 26th and 27th June. 10th, 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th July. 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23rd August.
Nothing in this Order shall apply so as to prevent the passage of any vehicle being used by any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform or of a Civil Enforcement Officer.

No right turn from July Racecourse access road onto London Road, Stetchworth and vice versa
