North Tyneside - Temporary Restriction Of Traffic Order

What is happening?

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF NORTH TYNESIDE 
DUDLEY, NORTH SHIELDS, TYNEMOUTH, WALLSEND & WHITLEY BAY, NORTH TYNESIDE 

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit all through traffic:

DUDLEY
1. On Ford View outside of numbers 5-8. Access available from either entrance to Ford View.
 The proposed temporary Order is required to carry out sewer repairs and then to reinstate and will come into force on 7 July 2025 for a period not exceeding 5 days.

2. From the rear of 2-21 Grieves Row, Dudley
 An alternate route is available via Ford View, Dudley Lane, Grieves Row

 The proposed temporary Order is required to carry out CCTV survey to the sewer and will come into force on 23 July 2025 for a period not exceeding 2 days.

NORTH SHIELDS
On the footpath that joins Penman Place to Burdon Main Row. 

An alternate route is available via Penman Place, Burdon Main Row.

The proposed temporary Order is required for a gas mains replacement and will come into force on 14 July 2025 for a period not exceeding 28 days.

TYNEMOUTH
1. On Middle Street outside of 21-22
 An alternate route is available via Middle Street, East Street, Lovaine Row, Lovaine Row Lane At Side And Rear Of 5-17, Hotspur Street

 The proposed temporary Order is required to replace existing BT cover and frame in carriageway and will come into force on 28 July 2025 for a period not exceeding 4 days.

2. On Stanwick Street Lane to the rear of numbers 2-4 Stanwick Street. 

 An alternate route is available via Stanwick Street Lane, Hotspur Street, Syon Street.

 The proposed temporary Order is required to renew a water service and will come into force on 14 July 2025 for a period not exceeding 5 days.

WALLSEND
1. On North Terrace from outside numbers 45-47. 
 An alternate route is available via North Terrace, North Terrace Road, South Terrace Road, South Terrace.

 The proposed temporary Order is required for an interim to permanent reinstatement and will come into force on 28 July 2025 for a period not exceeding 6 days.

2. On the footpath outside of 76 Sunholme Drive. 
 An alternate route is available via the adjacent footpaths. 

 The proposed temporary Order is required for a new connection from an existing service and will come into force on 7 July 2025 for a period not exceeding 12 days.

WHITLEY BAY
1. On Margaret Road Lane from the side to the rear of number 53-55 Margaret Road. 

 An alternate route is available via Margaret Road, Grafton Road, Grafton Road Lane, Margaret Road Lane.

 The proposed temporary Order is required for telecom pole repairs and will come into force on 22 July 2025 for a period not exceeding 2 days.

2. On Norham Road from the junction with Front Street to the junction with Village Court. 

 An alternate route is available via Front Street, Cauldwell Lane, Seatonville Road, Shields Road, Hillheads Road, Marden Road South, Marden Road, Park View, Norham Road.

 The proposed temporary Order is required for building inspections at Monkseaton Metro Station and will come into force on 17 July 2025 for a period not exceeding 1 day. Working hours will be from 23:30 until 06:00.

3. On Whitley Road Lane At Rear Of 279-301

 An alternate route is available via Laburnum Avenue, Fern Avenue, Clifton Terrace

 The proposed temporary Order is required to carry out construction work and will come into force on 14 July 2025 for a period not exceeding 18 days.
