Somerset - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Highway Works

What is happening?

Somerset Council

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along the following lengths of road:

WA20/0725 - SD001267 - Blagdon Hill Road in the parishes of Pitminster and Trull - from the junction with Troake Lane to the junction with Little Canonsgrove Lane.

WA21/0725 - SD001268 - Blagdon Hill Road in the parish of Pitminster - from the junction with Sellicks Green to the junction with Troake Lane.

WA22/0725 - SD001269 - Blagdon Hill Road in the parish of Pitminster - from the junction with Blagdon Reservoir Road to the junction with Sellicks Green.

WA23/0725 - SD001270 - Blagdon Hill Road in the parishes of Pitminster and Otterford - from the junctions with Blackdown Hill Road and Holman Clavel Road to the junction with Blagdon Reservoir Road.

WA24/0725 - SD001271 - Churchinford Road in the parish of Otterford - from the junction with Whitewall Road to the junction with Blackdown Hill Road and Holman Clavel Road.

WA25/0725 - SD001272 - Churchinford Road in the parish of Churchstanton and Otterford – from the junction with Smeatharpe Road to the junction with Whitewall Road.

WA26/0725 - SD001273 - Wrangcombe Road in the parish of Wellington Without – from the junction with Blackdown Hill Road to the junction with Sampford Moor Road.

WA27/0725 - SD001274 - West Buckland Road in the parish of West Buckland – from the junction with Blackdown Hill Road to the junction with Bussells Farm Lane.

WA28/0725 - SD001275 - Peacehay Lane in the parish of Sampford Arundel – from the junction with Sampford Moor Road to the junction with Greenway.

WA29/0725 - SD001276 - Dipford Road in the parish of Trull – from the junction with Daws Green Road to the junction with Honiton Road.

WA30/0725 - SD001277 - Lowton Road in the parishes of Pitminster Trull - from the junction with Wrexon Cross Lane to the junction with Daws Green Road.

WA31/0725 - SD001278 - Lowton Road in the parish of Pitminster - from the junction with Howleigh Road to the junction with Wrexon Cross Lane.

WA32/0725 - SD001279 - Lowton Road in the parish of Pitminster – from the junction with Howleigh Road, south-westwards for a distance of 2220 metres.

WA33/0725 - SD001280 - A3087 Trenchard Way in the parish of Taunton - from the junction with A3027 Chip Lane Roundabout, south-eastwards for a distance of 790 metres.

WA34/0725 - SD001281 - A38 Wellington Road / A38 Stonegallows in the parishes of Bishops Hull and Taunton – from 75 metres north-east of the junction with the A38 Wellington Road Roundabout to the junction with Jeffreys Way.

WA35/0725 - SD001282 - A38 Stonegallows in the parishes of Bishops Hull and Taunton - from the junction with Jeffreys Way, north-eastwards for a distance of 245 metres.

WA36/0725 - SD001283 - A38 Stonegallows in the parishes of Bishops and Taunton - from 245 metres north-east of the junction with Jeffreys Way, north-eastwards for a distance of 295 metres.

WA37/0725 - SD001284 - B3188 Ford Road in the parish of Wiveliscombe - from the junctions with the B3227 Church Street and Taunton Road to the junction with Burges Lane.

WA38/0725 - SD001285 - B3188 Ford Road in the parishes of Wiveliscombe and Brompton Ralph — from the junction with Wiveliscombe Road, northwards for a distance of 295 metres.

WA39/0725 - SD001286 - B3224 Raleighs Cross Road in the parishes of Tolland and Lydeard St Lawrence — from the junction with Tarr Road to the junction with Whitemoor Lane.

WA40/0725 - SD001303 - Gerbestone Lane in the parishes of West Buckland and Wellington Without – from the junction with Ford Street to the junction with Gerbestone Road.

This Order will enable Kiely Bros to carry out pre-surface dressing patching works on behalf of Somerset Highways. The Order becomes effective on 26th June 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The phased works are expected to commence any time after 1st July 2025. The road will be reopened when no works are taking place. Signage will be placed on site. There may be a need for additional closures of these sites at a later date and if so, a notification will be distributed.

Please visit www.one.network for further information on the alternative route. The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements. Advanced warning signs will be installed 10 days prior to the commencement of the works for each closure.
