South Lawn Way - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Allow Carriageway Maintenance Works

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OFYORKSHIRE COUNCIL 

SOUTH LAWN WAY, WOODSIDE BRIDGE, WOODSIDE BRIDGE NORTH ROUNDABOUT AND WOODSIDE BRIDGE SOUTH ROUNDABOUT, MELTON MONKS WAY EAST, MELTON (PART) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along: 

South Lawn Way, Woodside Bridge, Woodside Bridge North Roundabout and Woodside Bridge South Roundabout, Melton (FULL EXTENTS) Monks Way East, Melton (from the junction with the other main part of Monks Way East, Melton to the junction with the A63 Melton Interchange Westbound On Slip, Melton) Commencing 16 June 2025 to allow carriageway maintenance works to be carried out by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. 

The road closures are necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. 

The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works (which will be carried out in phases/between 20.00 hours and 05.00 hours) will all be completed by 5 July 2025. 

The alternative route for traffic affected by the South Lawn Way,Woodside Bridge and Woodside Bridge North Roundabout, Melton road closures (PHASE I) will be via: Melton Bottom Roundabout and Melton Bottom, Melton Swanland Dale, Swanland, Swanland Dale Roundabout and Riplingham Road,West Ella, Riplingham Road Roundabout, West Ella (A 164), Humber Bridge Northern Approach Road, Swanland (A 1 64), Swanland Roundabout, Swanland (A 1 64), Humber Bridge Northern Approach Road, Hessle (A 1 64), Humber Bridge Roundabout, Hessle (A15), Lowthorpe Way, Hessle (A I 5), Humber Field Roundabout, Hessle (A I 5), Road from Ferriby High Road to Humber Field Roundabout, Hessle (Al 5), PetuariaWay and North Ferriby (A63). The alternative route for traffic affected by the Woodside Bridge, Melton road closure (PHASES I AND 2) will be: East along theA63 to Humber Field Roundabout, Hessle (A15) then back west on theA63 to Melton Interchange. 

The alternative route for traffic affected by the Woodside Bridge South Roundabout, Melton road closure (PHASE 2) will be: West along theA63 to the Elloughton/Welton/Brough Interchange, then back east on the A63 to Melton Interchange. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Monks Way East, Melton (slip road) road closure (PHASE 3) will be via: Monks Way East, Woodside Bridge South Roundabout and A63 Melton Interchange Westbound On Slip, Melton. 

The diversion routes will be signed at the time of closure. The roads will be closed to all traffic but access will be maintained for residents, emergency services and pedestrians. Further information can be obtained by contacting Civil Engineering Services Team, tel 07527 184393. Ref: CB.
