Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

  • C 293 (Part), Newton Tony, from its junction with Amesbury Road to its junction with Newton Tony to enable Wessex Water to carry out to complete all full relining of the sewers in order to reduce infiltration and sewerage to governors. Alternative route via Newton Tony – Station Road – Newton Tony Road – Wyndam Lane – Tidworth Road – Amesbury Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 July 2025 and the closure will be required until 16 July 2025.

  • B 3083 (Part), Breamore Road (Part), Fordington, from its junction with A338 for a distance of approximately 200m in an easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out bridge repair and associated works. Alternative route via Deans Lane (unaffected length) – Manor Road – Gomeldon Road – A338 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 until 01 August 2025.

  • C 12 (Part), Berwick st John and Donhead St Andrew, from its junction with Luke Street to its junction with C312 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun and associated works. Alternative route via C12 (unaffected length) – A30 – C315 – C12 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00 for 5 days.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

  • D1: The Street (Part), Pitton and Farley, from its junction with Dean Lane to its property known as Silverbirch Cottages to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out tree cutting and associated works. Alternative route via The Street (unaffected length) – Parsonage Hill – Church Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 16 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day.

  • C 329 (Part), Salisbury, from its junction with C329 to its junction with Churchfields Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out structural and associated maintenance works. Alternative route clockwise via A36 – A338 – Exeter Street – New Street – Catherine Street.

    This Order which previously came into operation on 12 August 2024 will now recommence on 16 June 2025 and the closure will be required until 20 June 2025 between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00.

  • Waters Road (Part), Salisbury, from its junction with Stratford Road to its western junction with Fairfield Road to enable SGN to carry out gas main replacement scheme. No alternative route is available.

    This Order which previously came into operation on 02 January 2025 will now recommence on 16 June 2025 and the closure will be required until 27 January 2025.

  • C 323 (Part), West Dean, for a distance of approximately 20m either side of the level crossing to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out work at Dean Station.

    Level crossing closed overnight.

    C323 to be closed between the hours of 23:00 on 20 June 2025 and 06:00 on 21 June 2025.

    No alternative route is available.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to: Temporarily close to all vehicles, motor propelled vehicles and caravans:

  • (a) Byway 12 (Part), Durrington, from its junction with Fargo Road to its junction with Byway 12, Amesbury/A344.

  • (b) Byway 22 (Part), Amesbury, from its junction with Byway 10, Durrington to crossing the A344 over to its junction with Byway 23.

  • (c) Byway 12 (Part), Amesbury, from its junction with A303 (J1) in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake.

  • (d) Byway 1 (Part), Wilsford cum Lake, from its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake, to its junction with Byway 11, Berwick St James.

  • (e) Byway 11 (Part), Berwick St James, from its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake to its junction with Byway 16, Woodford.

  • (f) Byway 16 (Part), Woodford, from its junction of Berwick St James to its junction with A360, Druids Lodge.

  • (g) Byway 11 (Part), Amesbury, from its junction with A303 (J1) in a clockwise direction to its junction with Byway 23.

  • (h) Byway 2, Winterbourne Stoke, from its junction with Byway 1, Amesbury to its junction with Footpath 3 at Springbottom Farm, Wilsford cum Lake.

  • (i) Footpath 4, Durrington, from its junction with A345 to its junction with Fargo Road.

  • (j) Fargo Road (Part), Durrington, from its junction with A345 to a point 300m north of Hangar Road and to introduce a temporary No Waiting at any time restrictions to both sides.

  • (k) A360 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke, from its junction with A303 Longbarrow Roundabout to its junction with A344 (Airman’s Corner).

  • (l) A360 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke, from its junction with A344 (Airman’s Corner) in a westerly direction towards Berwick St James to its junction with B3086.

  • (m) B3086 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke and Shrewton, from its junction with A360 / A344 (Airman’s Corner) in a northerly direction to its junction with the Packway (Rollestone Crossroads).

  • (n) A345 (Part), Durrington, from its junction with the A303 to its junction with West Amesbury Road to the A303.

These Orders are made to ensure public safety during English Heritage managed by English Heritage events.

The closures and restrictions can come into operation at any time between 18:00hrs on 19 June 2025 and 12:00 noon on 23 June 2025.

Sections (a) to (p) will come into operation at 18:00hrs on 19 June 2025 and will remain in force until 12 noon on Monday 23 June 2025.

Sections (k) to (p) will come into operation at 18:00hrs on 20 June 2025 and will remain in force until 12 noon on Monday 23 June 2025.

The Orders for sections (a) – (k) will have a maximum duration of 6 months.

The Orders for sections (l) – (p) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
