What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(A)
THE A30 TRUNK ROAD (AVERS JUNCTION) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A30 trunk road in the County of Cornwall to allow cable and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place overnight (20.00 to 06.00) commencing on or after 2 July 2025 and be completed by 8 July 2025.

The effect of the Order would be the closure of the A30 eastbound exit slip road at Avers Junction.

During the closures, traffic would be diverted via junctions of the A30 and local roads.

The closure (which would not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles) and diversion route would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.

The Order would come into force on 30 June 2025 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.

THE A30 TRUNK ROAD (TEMPLE TO COLLIFORD) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A30 trunk road in the County of Cornwall to allow resurfacing and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place commencing on or after 30 June 2025 and be completed by 8 August 2025.

The effect of the Order would be to:

(a) impose a mandatory 50 mph speed limit on the A30 eastbound from 600 metres west to 500 metres east of Temple Tor Junction;

(b) impose a mandatory 30 mph speed limit on the A30 eastbound from 500 metres to 1200 metres east of Temple Tor Junction;

(c) impose a mandatory 10 mph speed limit on the A30 eastbound from 1200 metres to 2800 metres east of Temple Tor Junction whilst convoy working is taking place;

(d) authorise the closure of the gap in the central reservation at Colliford Lake Junction;

(e) authorise the closure of the eastbound layby 500 metres east of Temple Tor Junction;

During the closures, traffic would be diverted via junctions of the A30 and local roads.

The Order would come into force on 28 June 2025 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.

THE A38 TRUNK ROAD (SMITHALEIGH TO MARSH MILLS)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A38 trunk road in the County of Devon to allow resurfacing and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place overnight (20.00 to 06.00) commencing on or after 30 June 2025 and be completed by 30 August 2025.

The effect of the Order would be:

(f) to impose a mandatory 50 mph speed limit on the A38

(i) westbound from 350 metres east of the westbound entry slip road at Smithaleigh Junction to 50 metres west of the westbound exit slip road at Marsh Mills Junction;

(ii) eastbound from 80 metres east of the eastbound exit slip road at Deep Lane Junction and 1260 metres east of the eastbound entry slip road at Deep Lane Junction

(g) to impose a mandatory 10 mph speed limit on the lengths of the A38 given at (a) above whilst convoy working is taking place;

(h) authorise the closure of:

(i) the A38 westbound between the exit and entry slip roads at Smithaleigh Junction;

(ii) the A38 westbound from Deep Lane Junction to Marsh Mills Junction;

(iii) the A38 westbound entry slip road at Smithaleigh Junction;

(iv) the A38 westbound entry and exit and eastbound entry slip roads at Deep Lane Junction;

(v) the A38 westbound entry and exit slip roads at Voss Farm Junction

(i) authorise the 24-hour closure of the laybys adjacent to the A38 westbound from Smithaleigh Junction to Marsh Mills Junction.

During the closures, traffic would be diverted via junctions of the A38 and local roads.

The closures (which would not apply to emergency services, traffic officer or works vehicles) speed limits, and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.

The Order would come into force on 28 June 2025 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
