ACCESS LANE, OFF 277-278 OXFORD STREET, SWANSEA. NOTICE 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City and County of Swansea in pursuance of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) has made an Order. In order for Swansea Council Corporate Property Services to carry out refurbishment works to (former BHS store) 277-278 Oxford Street it will be necessary to temporarily close the above lane to pedestrian footfall.

SCHEDULE - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
ACCESS LANE, OFF 277-278 OXFORD STREET
Access lane in a north-westerly direction adjacent to 277-278 Oxford Street from its junction with Oxford Street for a distance of approximately 55 metres.
The alternative route for pedestrian footfall will be via the car park rear of Marks & Spencers, Portland Street and Oxford Street, a distance of approximately 260 metres.
There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic.
Access for emergency vehicles to be maintained at all times.
An initial closure notice was made on 23rd May 2025 (the “Initial Notice”) which had the effect of closing the road for 21 days. Now this order will extend the 21 day period under the Initial Notice to reach the maximum closure duration of 18 months.
Therefore, this order will take effect on the 13th June 2025 and shall last for a duration of 18 months less the 21 days under the Initial Notice, thus expiring on 22nd November 2026.
