Princess Victoria Street - Prohibition of Driving & One Way Traffic Order

What is happening?

CITY OF BRISTOL

(PRINCESS VICTORIA STREET, CLIFTON WARD, CITY OF BRISTOL)
(PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) (ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE that on 12th June 2025 it made a traffic order, the effect of which is to revise the existing prohibition of any vehicle from entering or proceeding in Princess Victoria Street from Regent Street to Waterloo Street to operate between the hours of 11am and 7 pm. Exemption will be maintained for pedal cycles and for specified/statutory purposes.

Note: the existing one way provision working eastwards in Princess Victoria Street from Regent Street to The Mall are brought forward into the new order unchanged.

The order will come into operation on 16th June 2025 and a copy thereof, together with plans, a copy of the order being revoked and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the order may be inspected at the Citizen Service Point at 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Monday to Friday.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
