What is happening?

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(CLAYTON STREET AND SCOTLAND ROAD, NELSON, PENDLE
BOROUGH) (PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council propose to make the above pedestrian
crossings under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1) Introduce a zebra crossing in the following locations:
a) Clayton Street, Nelson, from its roundabout junction with Scotland Road for a distance of 23.5 metres in a south westerly direction;
b) Scotland Road, Nelson, from a point 5.5 metres south east of its junction with the centreline of Elizabeth Street for a distance of 28.5 metres in a north westerly direction;
c) Scotland Road, Nelson, from its roundabout junction with Clayton Street for a distance of 29 metres in a south easterly direction;
d) Scotland Road, Nelson, from a point 10 metres south east of its junction with the centreline of Fountain Street for a distance of 32 metres in a north westerly direction.
2) Introduce a parallel crossing in Scotland Road, Nelson, from a point 13 metres north west of its junction with the centreline of Cooper Street for a distance of 40 metres in a south easterly direction.
A copy of the relevant notice and plan indicating the location of the crossing may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of the Pendle Borough Council, No1 Market Street, Nelson, Lancashire, BB9 9LU and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston, PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
