What is happening?
East Sussex County Council
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
The East Sussex (B2087 High Street, Flimwell)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
High Street – from Waterford to the junction with A21(T).
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A21(T) – B2099 Ticehurst Road, Pashley Road – B2087 Lower Platts, Dale Hill, Berners Hill, Broom Hill, Union Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 1 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 1 and 2 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6187 Boarders Lane, Ticehurst)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Boarders Lane – from the junction with U6192 Burnt Lodge Lane to the junction with U6188 Cross Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6188 Cross Lane – B2099 High Street – U6192 Burnt Lodge Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 1 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 1 and 2 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C82 Bartley Mill Road, Frant)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Bartley Mill Road – from the junction with B2169 Furnace Lane to the junction with U7534 Sleepers Stile Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via – B2169 Furnace Lane, Furnace Lane (Kent), The Down (Kent) – B2100 The Slade (Kent), The Slade, Cousley Wood Road – C82 Newbury Lane, Monks Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 30 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 30 June and 1 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C2 Plawhatch Lane, Sharpthorne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Plawhatch Lane – from the junction with C469 Legsheath Lane to the junction with C401 Grinstead Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C401 Grinstead Lane – C469 Legsheath Lane and vice versa.
The Order commenced 14 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 17 and 18 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C83 Cottenden Road, Stonegate)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Cottenden Road – from the junction with C214 Bardown Road to the junction with C83 Myskyns Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C214 Bardown Road, Stonegate Road – B2099 Shovers Green, High Street – C83 Church Street, Wardsbrook Road, Myskyns Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 17 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 19 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2110 Hartfield Road, Forest Row)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Hartfield Road – from the junction with U7472 Parrock Lane to the junction with A22 London Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Lewes Road, Wych Cross, Millbrook Hill, High Street, Fords Green Road, Courtlands Road, Horney Common Road – B2026 Straight Half Mile, Lampool Road, Duddleswell Road, High Road, Chuck Hatch Road, Cotchford Hill, Jib Jacks Hill – B2110 Newton Hill, Gallipot Hill, Cat Street, Shepherds Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 18 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 18 and 20 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
