Hazelwood Lane (C137) Chipstead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 6 June 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Hazelwood Lane (C137) Chipstead as it extends from its junction with Hazelwood Lane (C137) leading to High Road (C136) to its junction with High Road (C136). 

Alternative Route – Hazelwood Lane, High Road and Hazelwood Lane. 

This Order is required to enable Road Traffic Solutions Ltd to facilitate installation of underground service cables and associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 23 June 2025 for 4 days. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times.

Trowers Way (D1262) Redhill
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 6 June 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Trowers Way (D1262) Redhill as it extends from its junction with Frenches Road (C224) to its junction with Holmethorpe Avenue (D1262).

Alternative Route – Trowers Way, Ormside Way and Frenches Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable NETS International Limited to facilitate remedial works and associated works.

These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 27 June 2025 for 4 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 4.00pm. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Punchbowl Lane (D2857) and Overdale (D2857) Dorking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 6 June 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of: (a) Punchbowl Lane (D2857) Dorking as it extends from its junction with Reigate Road (A25) to a point 190 metres south of this junction; (b) the entire length of Overdale (D2857) Dorking; and (c) suspend “The Surrey County Council Punchbowl Lane (D2857) Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No. 2) 2024” insofar as it relates to the length of Punchbowl Lane described in (a).

Alternative Route – A25 (Reigate Road), A24 (Deepdene Avenue), Chart Lane and South, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate communications works and associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over two phases during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order. 

The first phase will commence on 25 June 2025 for 2 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 4.00pm and the second phase will commence on 14 July for 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Leatherhead Road (A24) Leatherhead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 11 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Leatherhead Road (A24) Leatherhead as extends from its roundabout with (A24) and (A243) By-Pass Road, and (B2122) Epsom Road to its junction with (D2575) Grange Road. 

Alternative Route: (1) (A24) Leatherhead Road, (A24) The Street, (A24) Epsom Road, (A24) Dorking Road, (A24) South Street, (A24) High Street, (A2022) Upper High Street, (A2022) Alexandra Road, (A2022) College Road, (A240) Reigate Road, (A217) Brighton Road, (A217) Reigate Hill, (A217) London Road, (A25) Castlefield Road, (A25) Church Street, (A25) High Street, (A25) West Street, (A25) Buckland Road, (A25) Reigate Road, (A24) Deepdene Avenue, (A24) London Road, (A24) Mickleham By-Pass, (A24) London Road, (A24) Dorking Road, and (A24) By-Pass Road. This Order is required to facilitate joint investigation works for, or on behalf of Octavius Infrastructure Ltd.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 nights, between the hours of 8pm and 5am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 23 June 2025.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the marshalls on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Bike Ride
(Temporary Traffic Measures) Order 2025

On 11 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order, pursuant to Sections 16A and 16B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to (1) Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding along the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice or any parts thereof. 

Such restriction shall also apply in relation to the riding, leading or driving of horses or any other animals; and (2) Impose a one-way driving restriction in the entire length of Chapel Road (C67) Smallfield, so that all vehicles shall proceed in a southerly direction. 

The Order will come into effect on 15 June 2025, for a period of one day, but will only be operative whilst the relevant traffic signs are displayed. This Order is required to facilitate the holding of an on-road cycling event, namely The British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Bike Ride 2025. 

The Order will not apply to such pedal cycles or other vehicles being used in connection with the said event, or anything done on the direction, or with the permission, or a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any sign placed by Surrey Police. 

Emergency access will be maintained for the police, fire brigade and ambulance services and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water, or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic. 

No exemption will apply for disabled persons’ vehicles and all parking places in the lengths of roads specified in this Notice will be suspended. 

Access for residents will be maintained where possible, however the Council are satisfied that, in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road to which this Order relates, or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, or for facilitating the passage of vehicular traffic on the road, vehicular access to premises situated in the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted, save for emergency access as indicated above. 

Access for pedestrians will be unaffected. It is anticipated that the closures will operate in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead between 5am and 2pm and in the District of Tandridge between 5am and 4pm, though roads will reopen earlier if it is safe to do so. 

The Council are also satisfied that in accordance with subsection (3) of Section 16A of the Act, that the event to which the Order relates cannot be held otherwise than on a road. 

Such is the length of the route and the nature of the closure, the Council does not consider it practical to recommend alternative routes for traffic, however, it will be possible to cross the route via Outwood Lane (Woodmansterne), A23 London Road South (Merstham) and A25 High Street/Bletchingley Road (Nutfield), though these crossing points will be controlled by traffic signals.

(1) Carshalton Road (B278) Woodmansterne as extends from the County boundary line between Surrey and the London Borough of Sutton to its junction with (B278) Rectory Lane;

(2) the entire length of Rectory Lane (B278) Woodmansterne;

(3) the entire length of How Lane (D1080) Chipstead;

(4) High Road (C136) Chipstead as extends from its junction with (D1080) How Lane to its junction with (D1157) Markedge Lane;

(5) the entire length of Markedge Lane (D1157) Merstham;

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Headley Road (C56) and Tilley Lane (C56) Headley between the junction of Tilley Lane with Lee Green Lane (D315) and the junction of Headley Road with Downs Road (D2251).

Alternative Route – Farm Lane, Park Lane, A24 (The Street, Leatherhead Road and By-Pass Road), Headley Road and Clay Lane, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate pole replacement and all associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 4.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 July 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Westhumble Street (D2530) Westhumble
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Westhumble Street (D2530) Westhumble between the western boundary of the property known as “Cleveland Barn” and the eastern boundary of St Micheals Chapel of Ease.

Alternative Route – A24 (London Road), A2003 (Ashcombe Road), Ranmore Road, Ranmore Common Road and Chapel Lane, or A24 (London Road, Mickleham By-Pass, London Road and Dorking Road), A246 (Young Street, Guildford Road and Leatherhead Road), Leatherhead Road, Dorking Road and Chapel Lane.

This Order is required to enable Network Rail to facilitate trial holes on railway bridge and all associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 7 July 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Ship Hill (D446) and Westmore Green (D446) Tatsfield
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Ship Hill (D446) and Westmore Green (D446) Tatsfield between the eastern boundary of the property known as “The Old Telephone Exchange” and a point 20 metres east of its junction with the Parade (X448).

Alternative Route – Old Lane, Ricketts Hill Road and Lusted Hall Lane, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable UKPN to facilitate tree cutting to keep branches away from power lines and all associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out in 6 separate phases over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 9 July 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Station Approach (D440) Oxted
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Station Approach (D440) Oxted.

Alternative Route – Station Road West, Church Lane and Bluehouse Lane, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Network Rail to facilitate tree cutting and all associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 July 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Salmons Lane (D1388) Whyteleafe
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Station Approach (D440) Oxted between its junction with Whyteleafe Hill (C227) and its junction with Torwood Lane (N1003).

Alternative Route – A22 (Godstone Road) and Whyteleafe Hill, or this route in reverse. Alternatively, A22 (Godstone Road), Burntwood Lane and Whyteleafe Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable SGN to facilitate gas mains replacement and all associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 weeks between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 July 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Church Road (D320) Leigh
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Church Road (D320) Leigh between the access for the property known as “Orchard Cottage” to a point 250 metres east and north.

Alternative Route – Church Road, Flanchford Road, Tapners Road and Church Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate new BT ducting installation, repairs and all associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 7 July 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Wilderwick Road (C90) East Grinstead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Wilderwick Road (C90) East Grinstead. 

Alternative Route: Sandhawes Hill, (A264) Holtye Road, Shepherdsgrove Lane, Hollow Lane, and High Street, or this route in reverse. 

This Order is required to facilitate safe pole testing works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 09 July 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

A217 Reigate Road, Hookwood
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of A217 Reigate Road, Hookwood which extends from its roundabout junction with A23 Brighton Road to its roundabout junction with C62 Reigate Road. 

This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing/carriageway surfacing and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 7 July 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. 

Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. 

Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Alternative Route – A217 Reigate Road, A217 Dover Green Road, A2044 Woodhatch Road, A23 Brighton Road, A23 Bonehurst Road, A23 Brighton Road and A217 Reigate Road.

B290 New Road, Tadworth
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of B290 New Road, Tadworth. 

This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway slurry works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 2 July 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. 

Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. 

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained via a pedestrian walkway within the carriageway. 

Alternative Route – B2220 Tadworth Street, A217 Brighton Road (Roundabout) and B2032 Dorking Road.
