Winchester - Temporary Road Closures due to Fibre Optic Cable Installation

What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES – VARIOUS ROADS, DENMEAD & SOUTHWICK AND WIDLEY, WINCHESTER

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council has made an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.

ROADS TO BE CLOSED:

1. Furzeley Road, Denmead between its junction with Forest Road and its junction with Sheepwash Lane.

2. Sheepwash Lane, Denmead between its junction with Furzeley Road and its junction with Belney Lane.

3. Belney Lane, Southwick and Widley between its junction with Sheepwash Lane and its junction with Belney Farm.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:

1. Newlands Lane, Closewood Road, B2150, Forest Road

2. Newlands Lane, Furzeley Corner

3. Purbrook Heath Road, Newlands Lane, Sheepwash Lane

DURATION OF ORDER:

From 9th June 2025 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner.

(Notwithstanding, it is expected that closure 1 will be required for no longer than 7 days from 9th June 2025, working between the hours 08:00 – 20:00. It is expected that closure 2 will be required for no longer than 19 days from 16th June 2025, working between the hours 08:00 – 20:00. It is expected that closure 3 will be required for no longer than 8 days from 5th July 2025, working between the hours 08:00 – 20:00).

The road closures have been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for CCN Communications to carry out fibre optic cable installation. If there are any queries or enquires regarding this Order please contact:

CCN Communications will provide reasonable facilities to allow access to adjacent premises and provide notice to those directly affected while the work is being carried out.
