Suffolk, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE B1061 BURY ROAD AND B1061 THETFORD ROAD, BRANDON AND SANTON DOWNHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order to make a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the B1061 Bury Road, Brandon from 16 metres south of the B1106 roundabout and B1061 Thetford Road, Santon Downham from 200 metres south of the B1106 to its junction with Brandon Forest Concert Halls and on the B1107 to Fire Road 16 to facilitate traffic safety during forestry works.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The speed restriction may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

It is intended the restriction will operate from 18/06/2025 – 22/06/2025 continuously for the duration of the works.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3701 MILL LANE, BUXHALL AND OFFORD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads in the parishes of Buxhall and Offton:

  1. U3701 Mill Lane, Buxhall from the junction with The Street to Natural Farm for 75 metres southwards.

This is to facilitate installation of fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be:

  1. B1084, Palfrey Water, Orford Road, The Street and vice versa

It is intended that the closure will operate from:

10/06/2025 – 15/06/2025 continuously for five days.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH 25, FRESTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing Footpath 25, Freston to facilitate surfacing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will not be available.

The extent of the closure will be:

From junction with Footpath 26 to junction with Footpath 27, Freston.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/06/2025 – 25/07/2025 continuously for the duration of the works.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 6 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE PRO33 FOOTWAY FROM NO. 1 BRATHWAITE DRIVE TO NO. 15, GREAT WALDINGFIELD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the PRO33 Footway from no. 1 Brathwaite Drive to no. 15, Great Waldingfield from the B. Alexanders Drive for 15 metres north westbound to facilitate stop tap repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be: Footway from Alexander Drive to Brathwaite Drive, Alexander Drive, Alexander Drive Footpath, Access Road – Footway beside no. 37 Branthwaite Road to Branthwaite Drive and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/06/2025 – 11/06/2025 continuously for three days.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8293 KEDINGTON HILL, LITTLE BRADLEY TO LITTLE CONARD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U8293 Kedington Hill, Little Bradley from the junction with the U8465 for 30 metres westbound to facilitate pole work for the installation of a new electricity supply. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be:

U8465, Kedington Hill, Little Conard and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10/06/2025 – 11/06/2025 continuously for the duration of the works.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U8801 Plough Lane, Sudbury from 10 metres south of its junction with Gallows Hill for 30 metres to facilitate ducting works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10/06/2025 – 11/06/2025 continuously for the duration of the works.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3603 VARIOUS ROADS, WOODBRIDGE

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

  1. U3630 Sun Lane Woodbridge from Beaconsfield Road to St Johns Hill

  2. U3630 Beaconsfield Road, Woodbridge

  3. U3630 Victoria Road, Woodbridge

  4. U3630 St Johns Hill, Woodbridge

This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

  1. St Johns Hill, Castle Street, Mill Lane, Victoria Road and vice versa

  2. Beaconsfield Road, the B1438, Victoria Hill, St Johns Hill,

  3. The Street, The Thoroughfare and vice versa

  4. and vice versa

It is intended that the closure will operate on the following dates and times:

  • 09/06/2025 – 10/06/2025 from 8am – 5pm

  • 11/06/2025 – 12/06/2025 from 8am – 5pm

  • 13/06/2025 – 14/06/2025 from 8am – 5pm

  • 16/06/2025 – 17/06/2025 from 8am – 5pm

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C846 MILL LANE, CREETING ST PETER

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C846 Mill Lane, Creeting St Peter from junction with the U8466-B Hill Farm to Hill Fold Farm for 40 metres to facilitate the installation of a new electricity supply. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10/06/2025 – 11/06/2025 continuously for the duration of the works.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1325 RANELAGH ROAD, FELIXSTOWE

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U1325 Ranelagh Road, Felixstowe from its junction with Margaret Road to St Peter’s Street to facilitate the installation of a new electricity supply. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Hamilton Gardens, Cambridge Road, Cobbold Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/06/2025 – 13/06/2025 (five days). If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE B1077 EYE ROAD, LANGTON GREEN, VICTORIA HILL AND MAGDALEN STREET, BROOME AND OAKY AND EYE (TEMPORARY)

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads to facilitate surface dressing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

  • B1077 Eye Road, Broome and Oakley from the A140 Langton Estate to Langton Green.

  • B1077 Victoria Hill, Eye from Langton Green to Century Road.

  • B1077 Magdalen Street, Eye.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1077, the B1117, the A140, the B1077 and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the B1077 Magdalen Street, Eye from the junction with Victoria Hill to Castleton Way.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/06/2025 – 12/06/2025 from 9am – 3pm with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE A12, BRADFIELD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the A12 Bradfield to facilitate drainage works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A12, the A14, the A140, the A1120, the A12 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/06/2025 – 13/06/2025 from 8pm – 6am each night with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C355 NEWBOURNE ROAD, MILL ROAD AND THE STREET AND U3150 IPSWICH ROAD, NEWBOURNE

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads in the village of Newbourne:

  • C355 Newbourne Road, Newbourne from Mill Cottage to the junction with Ipswich Road.

  • C355 Mill Road, Newbourne.

  • C355 The Street, Newbourne.

  • U3150 Ipswich Road, Newbourne from the junction with Mill Road to the junction with Newbourne Road.

This is to facilitate works by ABC Telecoms. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/06/2025 – 10/06/2025.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5800 ROAD FROM C523 TO C534 AND THE C530 CHURCH ROAD, REDLINGFIELD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

  • U5800 Redlingfield Road from C523 to C534, Redlingfield from the junction with Woodlane for 893 metres southbound.

  • C530 Church Road, Redlingfield from Fieldfare for 394 metres southbound.

This is to facilitate a highway scheme. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Church Road, Park Road, Dublin Road, Mill Road, The Street, Church Street, the B1077, Cranley Road, Mill Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/06/2025 – 11/06/2025 from 8am – 5pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C646 PIGEONS LANE, COPDOCK AND WASHBROOK

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C646 Pigeons Lane, Copdock and Washbrook from the junction with Spring Road to adjacent to Vicarage Gardens to facilitate stop tap replacements. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Washbrook Road, the A1071, Swan Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/06/2025 – 10/06/2025 from 8am – 5pm.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C765 Abbeygate Street, Bury St Edmunds from its junction with Hatter Street to the junction with Westgate Street to facilitate drainage works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 7pm on 09/06/2025 – 6am on 10/06/2025.
